BUTCHERS OF KHORNE

The butchers of Khorne were known as the gargoyle chapter, a fairly new chapter which excelled at close combat and close quarter battle. The Gargoyles had been sent to a world named as "Labyrinth I" a hive world which has been recently having problems with chaotic uprisings in the lower hive cities.

On the travel to this world, chapter master Faunus had been acting strangely...after rumours of chaotic influence spread he was trialled and executed by his battle brothers on the act of heresy, the one who succeeded him was chaplain Lycan, who in fact was the one who had been influencing Faunus to turn to the ruinous powers.

Once in power, Lycan started to twist the chapter's members...saying that he had received a message from the emperor stating that the Imperium was false, and that he had been told to turn to the true ruinous powers...Lycans manipulative personality made this ridiculous message believe able...and he soon turned the chapter into the chaotic chapter it is today.

When the fleet was about to dock the world of labyrinth, Lycan told his brothers that the emperor wanted the population slaughtered, the majority of the world was imperialistic and the righteous men were the chaos cultists who had been uprising against the world. The gargoyles landed and soon began raping, pillaging, and burning the world...killing every child of those they viewd as heretics and scum...they allied with cultists of the ruinous powers and seiged the palace of the global governor.

The governor, whilst blocking his office door desperately, called for imperial help fast and at least a space marine force to help them. The ultramarines and white scars answered, sending companies to combat the chaos threat.

Savage fighting ensued, the gargoyles and cultists soon began naming themselves "The butchers" because of their close combat efficieny, and soon they became a full chaos legion. After a year of bloodshed, the newly named "Butchers of Khorne" gained the upper hand, and had killed off the ultramarine company...grotesquely decorating themselves with their armour and body parts. The white scars had retreated and gone to call exterminatus.

At this point, the blood painted legion had escaped the world...and had set their destination to a secure location, the only downside was that they would have to pass through the warp...

After being exposed to the warp for a uncertain, distorted time...they began contracting mutations...rams horns protruding painfully out of their skin...animalistic faces painfully morphing...sharp teeth ripping from their mouth...they soon turned to beats hulking around in ruined, bloody power armour and tokens of death and bloodshed...they had turned truly chaotic.

Once they came out of the warp, they had turned truly insane...losing all their past personality and such...they had began to mindlessly carve a bloody nightmare in the hive worlds they had begun to attack...

Their current whereabouts are unknown, only myth and legends made from fear of the innocent survivors can vaguely tell where they are.

Pretty rubbish I know, but what do you guys think?

As far as fluff goes, I like it. Not too sure how Lycan, as a Chaplain is the second in command, or could be a traitor for so long as a Chaplain...

If this was a Company that went rogue, that would work, but if it was the Chapter Master that went to Chaos, what do the other companies of the Gargoyles Chapter think of this? Have they made a crusade to hunt them down, have they had to undergo a rite of penitence under the eye of the Inquisition?

All in all, not bad.
