Strategic Defense
Opponent: Pete's ISA
Mission: Supply Ships, I was defender because Pete challenged me we both had 5 Raid
Drazi Fleet: 3 Sunhawks (Patrol), 2 Darkhawks (Skirmish), 1 Jumphawk (Skirmish), 1 Strikehawk (Skirmish), 1 Stormfalcon (Battle), 6 Corp Frieghters (Mission supplied)
ISA Fleet: 5 Whitestars with their on board nile fighter flights

Action: My entire fleet started in perfect circular orbit around the planet, the freighters loading and unloading cargo with a strong military presence as the Drazi were preparing to build their base in this sector.  All 5 white stars elected not to jump in, but rather form a tight fleet and advance on our planet from one side.  Immediately the freighters all scattered to the 4 winds (you can't run away in this mission but we were spreading out).  Except for one bold freighter captain who headed right for the white stars.  The rest of the Drazi fleet used the planets gravity to easly whip around and keep there sights on their foes.  Initial action showed a white star take heavy damage and loose her ability to repair and her main weapon.  One of the Sunhawks was crippled.

The White Stars moved in to mix it up, their fighters going after transports while they initially focused on the military craft.  With some amazing init roles and my massive outnumbering of his fleet, I was easily able to predict where all his ships would be for my bore sites.  A fresh White Star had just pulled into orbit, and 3 Drazi ships lined up on him, including the Storm Falcon battleship at point blank range.  Despite the white star firing a full volley at the battleship, its mighty Hull 6 easily deflected all shots.  She then opened up with here escorts and between them killed the entire crew of the white star!   <script>><!-- D(["mb","

\r\n<div>Things then became nasty as the ISA decided that engaging a bore sight enemy in a planets gravity well was crazy talk and they split up to try and rip apart those freighters.  As they did so, they also managed to detonate a darkhawk, but in the explosion wipe out 2 nile flights.  Also, the freighters were slowly killing nile wings with their defensive fire.  Freighters were dying (although the one that charged the White Stars was still alive!) and 2 Sunhawks were crippled.\r\n\r\n<div> \r\n<div>But the Drazi weren\'t done by a long shot.  Beam weapons finally managed to get another White start to zero crew.  Tthe Stormfalcon, jump hawk, and Strikehawk all managed to line up on a healthy vessel, and the Stormfalcon launched here bombers with the catapult to get them nice and close.  Ooops.  The Stormfalcons main weapons all hit home, scoring several criticals and doing over 18 points of damage beyond the ships maximum.  Kaboom!!!  The fireball consumed the drazi\'s own bomber wing, but the site of a white star explosion was well worth it.  They were purple Drazi anyway.\r\n\r\n<div> \r\n<div>It looked bad for the ISA at this point, with only 2 white Stars left and no fighters.  Pete sent them out in an effort to kill the 3 remaining transport.  The Stormfalcon and Strikehawk killed that white star.  The sole remaining white star was well away from my fleet and closing on the last two transports.  The last Darkhawk fired here range 30 missiles at the ship and scored two crits!! One took the White Star\'s engines off line.  As she struggled to repair the damange the entire Drazi fleet closed in, hitting her with several beams and crippling the ship.  Surrounded, the Jumphawk gave the order "Stand Down and prepare to be boarded".  The Drazi get +1 to this roll and succeeded!!  The last White Star and her rangers surrendered and were captured.  Finally a Drazi win!!\r\n\r\n<div> \r\n<div>Russ VP: 4 White Stars destroyed (4x10), 1 White Star Captured (20), 2 Transports Survived (2x2), Held the field (5) = 69 = ",1] ); //--></script>
