I?m taking a bit of a break from my usual mode to add something to my GK list.  I?ve had a pair of GK Dreadnaughts for forever and haven?t really used them except for a few exploratory games.  I know in the past that I?ve been down on the dreads but after watching so many people make good use of them at Adepticon I thought I would dust them off and give them another go.

They are armed as they are because they were purchased in V3 and quite honestly as GK dreads can?t use Drop Pods being able to hit stuff from the back of the board is probably going to be of greater use than the shorter ranged Donkey Cannons.    I think they will survive because they are paired with 2 large squads of GK Terminators who are of proven utility and each heavy weapon going down range against the Dreads is one less shot on the Termies.  They also give some ability to do damage to AV 14 critters, which if they live can?t hurt.

The sacrifice I make is I?m reduced to fielding 3 Min/max GK trouper squads.  The Number of Psy Cannons is the same but I trade 9 troopers and 18 Storm Bolter shots a turn for 2 Las Cannons and a rocket launcher.  Admittedly the Dreads are immune to Bolter fire while the Troopers are all too vulnerable to it.   I just hate the thought of any kind of minimum sized squad.  Am I being to Critical?  What do you guys think?

If you want anti-tank, induct some guard with lascannons into your force.

I'd never go pure Grey Knights (Personally, I prefer Radicals though). Daemonhunters are made to make use of the inducted units.

And don't worry too much about having minimal squads. Either people will say 'Oh, Daemonhunters...Cool' or they'll say 'Oh, Daemonhunters...look at all the Grey Knight cheese'. Unless something is a Space Marine army, people can't grade composition worth a darn, especially since other armies have things that Space Marines don't.
