I recently read about someone who played the same Civilization game for 10 years. The history of his nation was forgotten in time and the current world was a radioactive wasteland of constant war between the last super powers. People starved and military items where the only things produced. It was a grim future and wasnt looking to get any better.

So I thought it would be cool (if anyone was interested) if others wanted to start their own 'Forge the Narrative' with Civ 3 or any other civ game and see where it goes. I will take screen shots and so on as well but for now here is some back ground.

I have decided to play the same Civ 3 game for the next ten years and started a few days ago. Im on an archipelago with 80% water, 16 nations and things are going great.

The Empire of New Zealand has slaughtered the blood of the native barbarians where 10s of thousands died in the struggle. The culture wars between the Incas, Aztecs and Iriqouis have reached a stalemate with cities converting on all sides. The first world war started in 1994, most of the world was using muskets and swords still due to the huge costs of the culture war.

My nation holds the world supply of gems and incense, keeping me rich and funding my science. I enjoy naval and air supremacy around my island and after 100s of years of conflict I have subdued the Aztec people into my empire. My bomber fleet and navy has sunk hundreds of sail ships and the tiny nation of Portuguese (3 cities, ancient era tech) was invaded and destroyed by the newly built NZ Marine Corps in the largets naval landing seen on earth.

The indian nation was wiped out by the USA who are the leading world power right now. The Persians where wiped out by the Ducth Empire. Most conflicts have reached a stalemate and peace is being made.

Asides from the Native American Nations all the modern nations are a Democracy making fighting wars hard as people dont seem to like the eternal struggle.

The American fleet defeated mine off the coast of the Incan Nation but their tanks where defeated by mine. My bomber fleet wiped theirs out but it was the first time my homeland was under attack.

I am currently at year 2150. the USA has started building nukes, the world I fear is not ready for this. Many nations are still riding on horse back and use knights. Some nations are still in the Ancient level of tech! My goal is to hold the empire I have built which spans four islands and get nukes before the USA uses them. I know the first person to launch nukes will be hated, but I gotta rival them.

Portugal was a tiny nation right next to the huge chinese nation. One string of land with a military fort is the only way in by land. The Marine Corps will be holding that land and reinforced. Marines will be shipped off to get ready for a Chinese attack. The navy and air-force are repairing on the homeland to counter and invasion force. The army has been spread thin taking and holding Aztec cities and fending off beach landings so they are being bolstered ready for a new defensive. Soon the Airforce will have helicopters and paratroopers which according to my scientists will change the way we fight wars forever.

The future looks bright for the New Zealand Empire. The world is at peace for the fist time in 150 years. But resentment of past conflicts remain and world trade has slowed down. I will try keep the peace, but I fear what the lesser nations will do to spur on conflict further.

If you dont have Civ 3, its like a few dollars on steam and works on windows 8. Just change the resolution (google how) and its awesome. Make sure its the CIV 3 complete!
