Do different Necron Dynasties favor different units, in the same fashion that Space Marine chapters might favor a particular variant of marine (Blood Angels and their jump packs, or Dark Angel Deathwing or Ravenwing, for examples)? Also is there a general format to what a Necron dynasty might bring as a war party (in similar nature to a Tau Hunter Cadre or SM Company)? Its mostly intended for narrative campaign, so specific numbers or citations aren't really needed (although greatly appreciated) so much as a general idea. I apologize if this was brought up somewhere else, but my search of Dakka and Google haven't turned anything up yet. Thanks in advance.

Depends on the Phaeron but, yes, that can be a thing in a Necron Dynasty. Usually, though, it's more a "right tool for the job" sort of philosophy, rather than "we only use Destroyers. For everything." model.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

Thanks for the help, I was just looking to add flavor to the game. I wasn't sure if there was any fluff on it in a book somewhere.

Zahndrek's armies are known for not using Deathmarks or Flayed Ones, seeing them as dishonourable.

Some might cast out Flayed Ones because they don't want to risk contracting the Flayer Virus.

Some dynasties might be entirely overtaken by the Destroyer cult, meaning that the would only field Destroyers and Destroyer Lords.

Specifics, there are none of, although Anrakyr only ever travels with his single squad of special Immortals and Trazyn favours lots of Lychguard to hop bodies into.
