So I am creating my own custom Space Marine Chapter an I am struggling with a name - I was hoping that the Dakka community could help me come up with one.

I have created a little bit of fluff and taken some photos.


So the Founding Chapter are the Exorcists - who in turn are rumoured to be founded from the Grey Knights. The __________ follow the Exorcists training and undergo Daemonic Possession Therapy - were each Marine was, under very tight security, subject to possession by a minor denizen of the Warp. The creature was allowed to remain within the host body for twelve hours until they were cast out by a Daemon Hunter. This makes the Marines much more aggressive and gives them increased combat effectiveness against Daemons.
This also means that like the Exorcists the _________ Chapter also have two extra Scout squads, if they do not they will cease to exist due to their highly unconventional training methods

The High Lords of Terra realised the need for a specialist chapter who are excel in dealing with both Xenos, and Daemons alike.
With the Exorcists effectiveness against Daemons is was proposed that the new chapter was to be founded from their gene seed.

Each Marine must join the Deathwatch if they are to join the First Company. This shows that each marine within the first company can effectively fight the Imperiums greatest threats. A Marine from the ________ Chapter can join the Deathwatch after the Chapter Chaplains say they are ready. Once a marine wishes to join the Deathwatch the Master of Sanctity will transfer them to the 13th Company, in which they undergo extra training before being shipped out to the Deathwatch.


Whilst the Chapter was being created there was a huge Ork invasion in a nearby system. As the __________where the closest they where sent in with a company of Exorcists.
As there was a limited number of marines who had completed their training a few members of the Mentor Chapter where sent to help lead the new chapter and provide support with their special equipment.


When the _______ arrived with their Mentor Chapter leaders and the Company of Exorcists it was discovered that the Ork's where worshippers of the Chaos God Khorne.
After 3 long years the invasion forces were defeated. But without the Daemonic Possession Therapy the marines from the Mentor chapter had suffered from 90% losses, the ______ and Exorcists where more effective at combating the Ork's due to them being under the influence of Khorne.

As a testament to the fallen marines of the Mentor Chapter the _____________ paint their armour similar to the Mentor Legion, but replacing the Mentor green with Exorcist red as to remember where the Chapter is from.



In more recent times the _______ now share a close bond with the Exorcist and Mentor Chapter's. After the Mentor Chapter has tested the latest Imperial technology, it is passed over to the ______________ to under go extra field testing against a wide range of enemies.

(Personally, I like the ones based on the idea of possession better than the ones based on color. Hope this helps!)

So... What did you end up naming your chapter?

Sorry I haven't replied, the last time I looked this thread was so far down the page with no replies I though no one would ever find it.

I loved some of the replies, especially Haunted hands and Angels of Purgation.

So I have decided to call them Spectral Guardians, which pretty much means Haunted Angel's (thank you online Thesaurus) as it doesn't sound to Chaotic.

Thank you every one for your suggestions which in turn gave me inspiration for the new Chapter's Name
