I thought it'd be nice to try out a good old fashioned infantry horde. Just plain lots of guns and some counterattack. How would it do in an environment of Escalation and objective grabbing?

The only thing I don't like is the Master.  Marine characters just don't have any reason to give up thier I5 by taking a PF.  The only 'go last' weapon that should ever show up on a marine character is a Thunderhammer, and even then it's a dodgy choice at best.

Other than that, I like the list.  If you want to be really evil, you could drop the Codicier, retool the Master, add a PF Vet to the command squad, and use those spare points to give a couple more squads infiltrate.  Who needs to move during a game if you can set up good crossfire on or around objectives from the start?

I'd give a bike for the Librarian. He would work well with the bikes, give your teeth some mobility and zoom around blasting that line of death.

And definetly get rid of the IC powerfist. The enemy will remove the models killed by the retinue so you'll never get to swing it.

Nice list, I hope you bring it.

The characters definitely need some rethinking, yes.

Migs - this list will take some time to complete, as it's a different chapter than the one I'm working on now. I have about 20 of these guys done. My next tourny list on the other hand will have lots of Terminators and vehicles.

The Hammer

I'm guessing the speeder is one of those old-school second edition makes, with the tubes that go from the crew's respirators to the hull? 'Cause multi-melta/flamer isn't worth it except to use a sick vintage model. If you have a hatred for assault cannons, just a simple heavy bolter will do if you want to go objective grabbing, or just the multi-melta if you want to use it as a suicide squad.

My personal temptation toward Marine characters is to field them either stripped down - i.e., bolt pistol and possibly a power sword/bike/jump pack/termie suit depending on the list - or to power them up to a silly level. For instance, by massively trimming down your Master you could upgrade one Marine from his squad to a cheap Reclusiarch. Nothing wrong with free mastercrafting on the squad power fist. Alternatively, the points could go towards, say, upgrading the librarian to an Epistolary and buying him a bike and an Adamantine Mantle (my personal favourite relic) without massively affecting the performance of the Master's squad.

I like the look of your list - quite different than mine, if you can compare it to one that's 250 points lower. Lots of versatile units. The bikers look like you want a semi-survivable unit. (edit - my brain misfired about how assault weapons work. Plasma might be worth a thought instead of melta guns, to give them a bit more flexibility, i.e. you're 23" away from the flank armour of a russ/a squad of termies/a viper/ etc.)

Were I writing the list, my bias would be to run 3x scout bikers with melta bombs in a suicide role (12" scout move + 12" move + 6" assault = 30" range melta bombs) and use the difference towards a small squad of devastators with bolt guns, also in a sacrificial role. (pushback)

To sum up, 1) get rid of the powerfist on the Master, 2) rethink that speeder if it was made this millenium, 3) try to cram in a small squad of bolter devs. Everything else in this post is worth a thought, but those are the most evident wrinkles.

I fear the list will do pretty bad in 4th ed. You lack mobility, so your shooting is not as great as you might hope. Also I dont really see the countercharge element. Check for Mauleed Marines and compare both lists. You lose in almost every aspect.
