Alright, so after getting a good amount of experience with the rules and the feel for the game, I am planning to expand my X-wing with going with an Imperial basis with going Tie-interceptor heavy since I like the idea of a fast and agile squadron at this moment. I was thinking of getting another core set to fill out on TIE fighters, the TIE fighter and interceptor expansion as well Imperial Aces. Also might get the A-wing for some things that goes good with the Interceptors from what I hear and then the slave one.
So, what does everyone think of this or should I not go with this for the time being?

I think he meant the upgrade cards that come with it...
Which doesn't seem like they're anything you'd want for Interceptors except PtL. That comes in Imp Aces, though. Only other thing in A-Wing is Deadeye, which is for missiles and such... and Interceptors don't use those...
So, maybe skip the A-Wings? Perhaps a Defender for Predator? Or the always slippery Phantom. If you like Interceptors for their movement, you'll love a Phantom.

Yeah, I was looking more the upgrade cards, which if that is the case, then I might skip that then since I am looking for boost and push it the limit I think. Also, how does the Phantom play if it is like the Interceptor? (Again, sorry for the lack of knowledge, but I wanted to know since I only really have a surface knowledge past the core set).

Check out the Phantom here:
http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=4795
They can do a cloak action, and when they decloak they move... just check out the article, it's much easier to see than explain.
They are glass cannons, but super fun to play.

Phantoms and Interceptors have similar roles, namely dodging arcs and hitting bad guys where it hurts. However, they operate very differently. Phantoms are all about the cloak and decloak, making their main decision before movement. Interceptors are all about action mobility, from boost and barrel roll, which go off after movement.

Reading some of the stuff on the Phantom from that and 1d4 chan, I am even more intrigued and want this thing.
That, and I just want to be 'that bastard' when running them to a slight degree and just get out of the way of danger. Getting another Core set and TIE fighter expansion for my birthday for my friend, so I just need to the TIE Interceptors and the TIE Phantom next.

Phantoms are very mobile. From my, so far, limited experience they are loners that should be used outside your main force as support. You don't want to bunch them up with you main force as they can either get in the way or end a turn on anothers base.
I'm sure more experienced players will prove me wrong but don't expect to keep them in a formation.

Outmaneuver is also a wonderful elite skill that comes with the Defender- better than Predator, if you ask me- ESPECIALLY on the VT-49. With a turrent, it's really easy to find a target that doesn't have an arc on you.

Well, for me I really prefer the Predator effect on turreted ships since you still have to have them in your printed front arc to get the defense die reduction.
Predator just works all day.
Again, just what I like, and that's what great about this game!
