Just noticed (perhaps a few months late) that GW are now offering free paint guides on their channel.
(this may be because someone at GW realized that people were using unofficial ones online that included heavy use of Vallajo and perhaps making people pay for a paint guide wasn't such a great idea from a business perspective)
Never the less I feel that when a company does something "good" they should be applauded, and GW giving out free useful information once again is definitely a step in the right direction and GW should be congratulated.

There is actually some (very) basic things in there that you wouldn't learn in a GW store too, like thinning your paints. Its clearly supposed to be for little Timmy but you're right. Its actually a pretty good thing.
Bravo GW.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that. |

The Nagash one is actually really good. I learned a few things myself. Not to say I am some sort of master painter, far from it, but I didn't expect much when I started watching it.

Yes, I was surprised when I came across the Wrack video yesterday. Quite by chance I might add - as usual, anything of actual interest is buried on the website.

Bravo GW.
Thought the new GW paintline was made to be as idoit proof as possible and didn't even need thinning because of the base, layer, highlight pots?

I don't think you do, but it still helps.
Ironically the paint line is one of the better things GW has done, but of course they screwed it up by charging more than everyone else and offering the least amount of paint, presumably to require buying paint more often and, thereby, making you pay more in the long run. If they offered 18mL like P3 for example, they'd blow everyone else out of the water even if they didn't use the dropper bottles like Vallejo. Their paints are actually quite good, but buying them feels like you're being suckered on purpose.

Its advertised as such yes, but in reality even Vallejo air benefits from a little thinning.
