Subject: By Sigmar, an actual web survey from GW!

So I just looked at the webstore on my kindle and a little box popped up offering a survey about the webstore. When I closed my session the survey started with the usual stuff, purpose of visit, satisfaction, how I felt it was presented, age range and how I felt they could improve it etc...
I thought Games Workshop was above market research
I'm sure it's not worth getting excited about, but it says a lot when a simple survey surprised me. Just thought I'd share

I half wonder if the survey was by GW themselves or by whatever organization manages their web store for them. It wouldn't surprise me if their web store management was run by a vendor, but I could be wrong.

Even if it was from GW, it doesn't constitute market research - just customer research. If it were market research then they'd open it up to everyone, including ex-customers and competitors' customers. It's also market research on just those who order from GW directly - not someone who buys from an LGS.

Was it about GW, or just the webstore?
Some kind of webstore survey/feedback might have been part of the deal.

Interesting...
As Saldiven, I wonder if this isn't something that was part of the package they got with the new webstore.
In fact, come to think of it, I'm almost convinced that this is the case.
No questions as to specific products.
No questions specific to the hobby.
No promises of a price for completing the survey, nor the possibility to enter an email should they want to ask you further questions.
So most likely a standard questionnaire, aimed solely at the webstore.

What does it matter? A survey is a survey and a step in the right direction.
Also, I have never been asked any of the above questions by any other gaming company.

I've tried the website 6/7 times (give or take) and each time no sign of a survey has appeared. Do you have to sign in or something?

No, I think it must have had a limited window or something as it's no longer coming up for me and I wasn't signed in atvthe time
Anywho, there's now 3 or so threads on this elsewhere. I think the best of the discussion is in the News section.

I believe there is a thread on this in another part of the forum. From what I read its basically just about the web store and how it is functioning.
Games workshop isn't going to have a survey on the rules and model ranges and they never will haha

The last survey I saw was in 2007 or so, sometime before Dawn of War II, since it was mostly about what we wanted to see in DoW 2 and an upcoming game called "Space Marine" and I remember filling that out pretty vividly.

I just did this survey and I worked very hard to make my comments directly about the web store while indirectly reflect my view on the company as a whole.
When they gave the option are you a Games Workshop Hobbyist or buying for someone else, I proudly said Other: I am a hobbyist that happens to enjoy the Games Workshop universe.
