The Cygnar Sentinel has a star attack called strafe. How can I boost the to hit & damage rolls? Do I need to boost each of the d6 shots, or do they all count as a single attack, meaning that I can get spectacular focus efficiency from it?

The sentinel gets a d6 shots, each ranged attack is its own separate attack so therefore you have to boost all the attack and damage rolls separately.

So no, the sentinel is the opposite of focus efficiency.

Unless otherwise stated, such as the rule Powerful Shot, each attack and/or damage roll must be boosted separately.

Strafe basically gives you the stated number of individual attacks independent of rate of fire.

Understand that Strafe is a really strong effect

Especially against many different enemies, or low armor enemies.

6+ = 6/36 | Reroll 1s = 7/36 | Reroll Misses = 11/36 ||||||| 5+ = 12/36 | Reroll 1s 14/36 | Reroll Misses = 20/36 ||||||| 4+ = 18/36 | Reroll 1s 21/36 | Reroll Misses = 27/36
3+ = 24/36 | Reroll 1s 28/36 | Reroll Misses = 32/36 ||||||| 2+ = 30/36 | Reroll 1s 35/36 ||||||| Highest of 2d6 = 4.47

Don't get me wrong. I take the Sentinel for Shield Guard. The Strafe is a bonus. I was curious after reading the battlecollege article ( http://battlecollege.wikispaces.com/mkiiSentinel ), where the author said that allocating 3 focus allows you to boost all its attacks. Personally, I think he was confusing it with the Charger, but I don't know.

Battlecollege gets a lot of things wrong. Especially rule interactions.

its a decent resource if you want to look at a model and a general rundown of its abilities, but look elsewhere if you want any dissemination as to how good something is or how things actually work.

Kraye has a 3-focus 'boost every shot' spell iirc. Ye likes his sentinels!

I have him already. Frankly though, I prefer Nemo3 for focus shenanigans.

Sure, Kraye has that spell, but his other rules make him prefer other jacks more than the Sentinal. Only reason to take one is to be a bodyguard for him.
