Hello

Thinking of doing Israel's War of Independence in 15mm....tons of model options from FOW, essentially British models for both side, but what appeals to me is the mish mash of WW2 gear. Would Bolt Action be a good rule set? Could you use the existing lists to represent the various forces?

Using the Brit rules for the Israelis and for the Palestinians I would go with Soviet Union or Germany

I find that bolt action can be used for a variety periods, i use it to game the first Indochina war which works out well. You just need to do a little research to figure out how best to represent your forces. The British book gives England a huge bonus for artillery units but i'm not sure how much artillery Israel had in its war of independence vs England in WWII so some tweaking of any army list is probably necessary.

I can see Bolt Action working for most 20th/21st century conflicts with a few tweaks.
