Played my friend tonight in a warm up game for a local league starting in a few weeks. He was playing his triptide, tripknight lance army. I had my DE list (Archon, Autarch, 3 rays, 3 razorwings, 3 hayscourges, dragons in serpent + troops).
Was a really good close game. I have some pictures this time but I'm typing this on my phone so it's short and sweet.
I won the roll off and elected to go second.
Turn 1 his riptides moved up and failed 2/3 nova charges and everything started laying into my troops, after going to ground with night fighting I lost a kabalite warrior and a unit of jetbikes.
My turn 1 as usual was small, the remaining jetbike unit boosted up to claim an objective.
Turn 2 was pretty much the same, his units laying into my token troops on the board causing a jetbike and a couple more kabalite warriors to die.
My reserves came in turn 2, everything except my lance ravager, 1 unit of scourges and a razorwing came in. My opponent being to clever man he is castled up his knights to prevent me getting the angles I needed to do any damage. My fire dragon serpent deep stuck and disgorged next to one of his knights. Battle focus is fantastic for getting around knights shield facings but despite getting good hits the dragons and scourges only managed a whole 1 hull point on his closest knight (total failure!). My dissie Ravagers on the other hand with some help from a couple of venoms took out 1 riptide and my razorwings dropped another one down to 2 wounds.
Turn 3 was rather horrific for the dark eldar. The dragons got layed into and only the Autarch was left standing, their wave serpent died to a charging knight and I had to jink a couple of my skimmers.
My turn 3 was okay, the final 2 riptides died to mass s5 ap2 dissies and his fire warrior squad was reduced to 2 men with his hq on one wound.
The rest of the game involved useless shooting by the De and objective grabbing for the most part. The knights chewed through everything they could on the board.
End result was a 15 / 12 win to the dark eldar.
Despite not being able to destroy the knights the msu nature of the dark eldar helped massively with the objective grabbing. The entire enemy army had to castle up in one place to protect itself from the mass hail of ap2 my list throws out.
All in all a great game.
