Recently dug out and started building up my collection of LOTR. Only problem is last time I played Legions of Middle Earth was still usable. I know that the army lists have moved to the 5 books but is the Lord of the Rings rulebook still usable in GW?

Yes, the EFGT mini book is perfectly valid.

The Escape from Goblin Town rulebook does not have the all of the character profiles that are in the hardcover book, but they can be downloaded from the Black Library website.
