Subject: Emperor's children after istvaan V during heresy?

So i have decided to give my iron hands drop pod legacy of glory- istvaan V (10 sternguard with combi weapons in a non scattering drop pod)
Basically the idea behind this drop pod is that it carried 10 surviving morlocks who were for failure to save Ferrus, sent on a suicide mission vs Emperor's children and somehow couple of them survived. NOW i need your help: What major campaign did emperor's children had after istvaanV? Or barring that, what was their role in the siege of terra? Think something like heroic sacrifice/surviving the suicide mission VS emperor's children after the dropsite massacre?(note: i am not looking for a campaign where 10 iron hands sabotaged singlehandedly EC, rather their role in siege of Terra so i can make a fluff about how those 10 morlocks helped at the siege of terra, since iron hands were brutalized after massacre, meaning they couldn't contribute as a whole)
Much appreciated!

After Istvaan V, Fulgrim and the ECs went off with Perturabo in order to trick him to help Fulgrim achieve apotheosis into Daemon Princedom.
Following that, I'm not sure if there's much on what the ECs did until the Siege of Terra. The HH series hasn't gotten there yet, but in past fluff the ECs got bored with the siege of the Emperor's palace and instead went on a depraved killing (and worse) spree across Terra against the general population.
Could be a story there for you, the Iron Hands having to rescue and shelter a group of normal citizens, the challenge being the straightforward and bionics-obsessed Iron Hands having to guard and shepherd a bunch of "weak" normal citizens, missing serving on the front lines all under orders of the Emperor. How would they handle it?

The EC that weren't directly with Fulgrim were either allowed to wander the Omperium doing whatever they wanted to satiate their new desires, or they were manning the garrisons of worlds that the EC had taken and built during the Great Crusade, one of which was being assaulted by the Raven Guard.
In other words, the EC could be found anywhere.

Yep, thats my understanding too. Not a huge amount on the ECs post Istvaan. HH series hasnt given them a standalone book except for Angel Exterminatus as noted above and the rest of the timeline hasnt got to Terra or other noteable battles before that.
We're they on Molech in Vengeful Spirit at all? Havent read that yet.
Why not scrap the siege of Terra idea since there isnt a massive mount of info on it and write a scenario where the morlocks attack an EC capital ship or planet stronghold and go on a rage fuelled rampage?

Thanks for the ideas guys... Altough i really like the idea for the strong iron hands to defend the weak pathetic civilians... in heresy era those 10 morlocks were punished that way because they failed to protect their primarch. In 40k, those guys will be responsible for the deaths of their superior, and punished by suicide DP assault..

I like that. Has a nice symmetry to it.

The novel? Yes, theres loads of good info on the EC there but I was referring to info about siege of Terra and how the OP might write his campaign. Currently we have very little idea what the EC did on Terra

Actually we do:
As one of the Traitor Legions, the Emperor's Children invaded Earth, but took little part in the fighting around the Imperial Palace. Simple pleasures had given way to complex debaucheries. While their allies fought and died the Emperor's Children slaughtered more than a million people and rendered them down to create endless varieties of drugs and stimulants. Countless thousands more died to give the Emperor''s Children more direct, if cruder, enjoyment.
