Subject: The Children of Rot (Bloodverse)
|
 |
Terrifying Wraith
|
The third army in the bloodverse (The admittedly rushed name I came up for the universe the Bloodborn-and-related armies are in), of which their will be at least 4. The other two are the Bloodborn and the Forsaken city, both still on-going
To the north, in the lands of chaos, live the Children of Rot. They travel the lands, mostly staying in the Chaos wastes, holding no home and knowing no love but their gods love for them. These chaos nomads spread Nurgles blessings, to the empire and the other followers of chaos alike. This band is lead by the one they call Typhos*. He is as a father to his followers, his children of rot and death. To his loyal children he bestows three blessings: The blessing of time, that all shall wither and rot to the ages, The blessing of disease, that his love be spread to all and his followers shall inherit this earth, and the blessing of undeath, that even after life they may still know his loving embrace. He rides upon a horse with fur of the purest white, its eyes like pools of blood on the snow-covered wastes. In the wake of its black hooves it leaves a trail of death, the grass withering under its very feet.
Though they are nomadic in nature, do not take this to mean they are insignificant . They are as a grand tide, many in number, drowning in pestilence the mountains of men.
*Is the Tyhphus inspiration too obvious?

Terrifying Wraith

In this age of ending, the wizards of the Children of Rot raise from the ashes their fallen comrades. Their bodies long decayed, these festering corpses become the very essence of Nurgles love for his followers. Where ever they go, plague follows closely at their heels, spreading his will, for they are his love incarnate. They are treated as good friends by the other nomads, and Typhus orders that they are to be honored as religious heros.

When the Children must leave the family, either to create a distraction or deal with a threat not worthy of the hordes might, they are lead by one of the 12 generals of Decay. These generals are Typhos' 12 biological sons, each birthed to a different mother (for any who would carry Typhos' child would soon be granted Nurgles greatest gift) under Nurgles watchful eye. They are each uniquely blessed by Papa Nurgle, and each bears an artifact from the family armory.
Tillian, the First-born of Typhos, is blessed with Holy Undeath. He was slain in battle, during one of his annual hunts, by a mighty Vampire from the badlands. When his men had reached him, they found a hooded man crouched over Tillians body, a strange glow emanating from his hands. Before they could say a word, the stranger darted off into the distance. His men had set out to carry his body back to Typhos, but shortly after they left the battlefield the lord rose from his laying position, and returned to the battle as though all was right. He retains free will and memory, though he must still be aided by a wizard in any difficult tasks, and ever since then his men say he has had an unnatural obsession with the Land of the Dead. He wields the Fist of Nurgle, a mace coated in the most vile poisons known to this world.
Carus, Titus and Bala are the only sons of Typhos born to the same mother, who bore triplets. Titus was granted the blessing of eternities, that he never grow old and may spread Nurgles love forever. Carus hold the Blessing of Pestilience, infected with thousands of Nurgles diseases, he knows the true burning intensity of Nurgles love. Bala, Typhos' only daughter, as bestowed an uncanny control over the undead. They each wields a staff imbued with the three blessings of Typhos, Bala wields the staff of undeath, Titus uses the staff of Ages, and Carus commands the staff of Disease.
