so ive recently started a shasvastii team and i haveto tell you i love these guys, they have abit o a genestealer feel them (ive read the fiction dont play the game) and ive just got myself upto 300 points worth of units, here is my list thus ar
SHASVASTII EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
──────────────────────────────────────────────────
5.5 SWC | 299 Points
ARMY CODE: eNozM1ZVNbK0VDXVM1U1UTNRM6wxVjMEkqZqRkDSEMxGIaGUOVitoQWEZwCiVMtMAI5VEPs=
now its not the strongest of teams, i do like the models within but it rubs me the wrong way, i love almost every mini in the shas range and for abit of fun i created a list dropping the sphinx
SHASVASTII EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
──────────────────────────────────────────────────
6 SWC | 296 Points
ARMY CODE: eNotybsNACAMQ8Fp7D4fAlmMiuEJEc1Z8gsDNAMBp1OOUcpBLWVy1KwOsrrEV9tZ5nuw/QJTQxBe
i found it very easy to build a list whithout the sphinx but ive bought the model and i really love it, to me it encompasses who the shasvastii are so i really want it in there
so with your help could you fix my first list and what are your suggestions if i wanted to go vanilla with some of these units ?

Something to remember with TAG lists is TAGs are single models that eat up roughly a third of your list, and have some pretty big weaknesses. You want to protect them from E/M weapons, hackers and anti tank firepower (they're big models - even the little Sphinx, so cover isn't going to be as easy to get), so you want a list to support them but also not too many other units that want those orders as well.
The first list seems pretty fine to me. You've got order gives - the seed soldiers and the Ikadron. The Haiduk is also basically an order giver - you'll mostly want it to sit in a hole and make sure no one sticks their head out on an approach to your backline with AROs. You've got a few order takers with teeth - the Sphinx and the Notcifier. You've got TAG support with the Med Tech and Hacker. You'll hurt with that if you ever want to try tournaments, which require a lot of specialists.
However, some advice. TAGs aren't recommended for new players for the main reason that TAG games are a pretty binary. They tend to end up with either the big scary robot rampaging around destroying your opponents army, or the TAG gets knocked out early and you face an uphill battle because your lists teeth just got removed.

To be fair, this isn't strictly an issue with TAGs or the Sphinx. The Shasvastii list is kind of difficult to work with in general when trying to build it around the boxed sets/units currently available.
The SEF box, for example, is sitting at 5.5 SWC and 153 points if you actually want a semi-legal force(you're still going to be over on SWC though).
Spoiler:
SHASVASTII EXPEDITIONARY FORCE ──────────────────────────────────────────────────
In the case of the SEF, it is one of the few times I suggest players not start with the Sectorial but rather they start with the Combined Army list and pick a few key Shasvastii models they like combined with the Morat Aggression Force set.

I'd say the Sphinx has enough of a chance to do that. Coming out of TO camo at the right moment and roasting a link with its dual flamethrowers, then rampaging around killing anything else it sees, or just failing to alpha strike something then being blown to pieces.
It's a light TAG, but it's still got frightening firepower and ample opportunity to deliver it.
oh im not a new player, ive had my shas for afew months but have been a nomad player for like 2 years so im accustomed to the rules, but shas im still working on, im almost bent on keeping the TAG as they are one of the things that drew me into the game, what i need is help on whether the first list needs improvment, should i drop the ikadron and med tech, change the caliban to an engineer an add in a shrouded hacker and be happy with 9 orders? etc, im hoping theunidron batroids are able to be used by the shas as a potentialy better/ cheaper unit to the seed soldiers though i doubt they will get camo tokens (one thing i love about the seeds is they are simple order generators and not all that strong but starting the game in camo is a great way to fool the opponant
That looks very close to what I threw together when I tried to make a list for you (ended up giving up because I always want to play vanilla combined army and can't make myself stick to a sectorial). I think it could be good.
Any chance you could swap the shrouded for a minelayer and use a noctifer hacker? The additional camo marker could help confuse the opponents and make them think you aren't running a TAG list. Plus the Noctifer is a better defensive hacker. That's what I'd want on my side because you won't exactly be running the hacking game with that list, so having something to help prevent the oponent from getting complete cyber superiority would be my choice.

well with the last list i added, id be interested in seeing what ideas you had with vanilla list,
i like it, though i feel lost without a repeater :(
there is alot of ei and morat minis i like so what ideas do you have?
I could have sworn a TAG could be used as a repeater. I haven't played this game in way too long. Maybe some Nomad trickery lets you do that and I'm misremembering...
Anyway here's my first approximation of a list based on what I think would be good. I really wish there were 10 points to free up so that imetron could be another witch soldier. It's got a couple of nasty models (the lt and the sphinx of course), plus Strategos on the lt means you can use his lt order on anyone, so you effectively do have 10 orders to play with. Keep in mind of course as I said I haven't played in a while and was never great, so the dojo is strong in this list, not so much the actual practice.
Combined Army | 9 models ________________________________________________________
300/300 points | 4/6 swc open with Aleph Toolbox : direct link
The general idea is that you have 2 camo markers (mine and shrouded) and then 2 TO camo markers. Then you have a pretty nasty LT and a bunch of cheerleader filler models. Hopefully that will confuse the other player into thinking you aren't running a TAG (10 markers on the board, maybe more in hidden deployment) but instead have some of the very nasty Shasvastii infantry options.
