Hey yall,

I got into Warmachine back when it first started taking off, before Mark 2 - with the all metal model line and all that good stuff. After a significant hiatus I've pulled out all my old models and want to try my hand and getting back into the game.

I put together a list mostly consisting of what I have. I'd like some opinions of how effective this composition is in the current state of the game, and maybe some tips on how best to play it. I have some experience - I played in a few tournaments back in the day, but I was just a wee lad, didn't make much of a splash.

- Lancer

Journeyman warcaster
- Charger

Long gunner infantry - x10

Honestly I am not a fan of the Charger on Jnr and the Hunter on Arlan.

Personal experience shows it doesn't take much to kill Jnr when he is running a Jack and I feel you are loosing out on the maneuverability of the Hunter with it is marshaled to Arlan.

Though I have used the Long Gunners with pStryker they have some hard counters in terms of Stealth and stuff that you need magical attacks for like passaged Menoth Jacks. Placement to ensure they don't block each others LOS is key and their static play style can be a hinderance.

So apart from what you have listed what else do you have?

Basically the rest of what I own is pHaley, some trenchers, and a few mercenary solos (Eiryss, Gorman). I am looking to buy some new stuff, though, so if there are any suggestions that might better fit what I'm trying to run, I'm all ears.

I really like the range and offensive power of the long gunners - they served me pretty well back in the day. I'd like to keep them in the list if I can, although I'm not married to the idea. What should I bring to support them if I do?

The hunter is a cool 'jack - maybe just having him in Stryker's battlegroup is fine, and Arlan can be there to help repair things if needed? Or would it be better to replace that combo entirely with something else?

Okay, going by a few of the other Stryker lists I've seen online, and some of the suggestions on this thread, I've put together (I think!) a more rounded Stryker-centric force.

pStryker
- Ironclad
- Charger
- Squire

ATGM w/ UA
- Hunter

Stormblades w/ UA + 3x WA

Journeyman Warcaster

35 PTS

The ATGM are there to deal with stealth and other tricky units. The Stormblades seem like a good addition - they get tough with arcane shield, and they're versatile enough to deal with infantry and big targets.

Again, I'd appreciate any thoughts/feedback on the new list.

The ATGM & UA are one of the staple Cygnar Units and the UA is an awesome jack marshall.

I think what I would do though is drop the Charger and Hunter. Give pStryker a Lancer to make use of Arcing Earthquake around. I would then with the remaining 4 points from dropping the charge upgrade the Ironclad to Ol' Rowdy and get Rhupert Carvolo to help with Stormblades survivability.

So list would look like

pStryker +6
Ol' Rowdy 9
Lancer 6
Squire 2

ATGM & UA 8
Stormblades & UA & 3WA 11

Jnr 3

The charger needs a lot of focus I would give the journeyman the Hunter instead.
