Just need to confirm, but is the armor piercing value of the weapon added to the die roll when determining if the shot glanced or penetrated the armor of a vehicle. I've read the rule book and it doesn't state this, but for some reason it sticks out that the AP is used.

It's the Strength. AP only comes into it if it's AP 1 or 2 it modifies the damage roll on the chart.

This probably ought to be moved to the rules section, but AP does have an effect on the vehicle damage chart, but not on the penetration rule.

So you roll your D6 and add the strength of the weapon (plus any other modifiers for weapon type such as melta etc) and compare to the vehicle AV.

Then you roll on the vehicle damage chart, and this is where weapon AP has an effect.

I'm afraid i don't have the page numbers but sure somebody will be able to provide them.

Thanks! StraightSilver answered my question. My son was adding the AP to the die roll to glancing/penetrating hit, and I know that wasn't quite right, I just couldn't find it in the rules.
