I've been a 40k fanatic since 2nd edition. I was 11 years old, and I remember the most difficult part of the hobby was convincing your perplexed parents to purchase inexplicably expensive GW models.

After about a 15-year hiatus, I'm now 32, read through 7th edition, noticed so much has changed and already invested in a 2,000+ point IF army after reading the Space Marine codex and Sentinels of Terra expansion. And after getting myself up to speed (at least documentation-wise, still need to actually play a 7th edition game), I find the most difficult part of the hobby is convincing my perplexed wife why I need to purchase inexplicably expensive models.

So much has changed, and yet the plight is exactly the same.

Anyways, I state in my profile that I began the hobby in 2014, because for all intents and purposes, my expanded knowledge of the rules/lore is rather dated (2nd/3rd editions), but I'm slowly getting up to speed. Love the addition of flyers, and curious to see how rampant army-spamming is in "unbound" games. I have a lot of questions regarding every aspect of the new, improved 40k from the game I remember -- everything from modelling to tactics -- and being a reader (as opposed to a participator) of this forum for awhile, everyone seems to be generally nice here to noobs, so I look forward to joining the community!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
