Subject: Decimator and Lambda Shuttle Combination

Warning From Magnus? Not Listening!

Been toying with the idea of pairing the Decimator with a Lambda, and seeing how they fare together. Here's what I came up with. Please feel free to comment and critique:
Admiral Chiraneau 44 Points
- Expose 4 Points
- Gunner 5 Points
- Recon Specialist 3 Points
- Hull Upgrade 3 Points
Colonel Jendon 26 Points
- ST-321 3 Points
- Darth Vader 3 Points
- Weapons Engineer 3 Points
- Advanced Sensors 3 Points
- Tactical Jammer 1 Point
Total Points: 100
Basic Tactics would be to let Jendon do all the Target Locking, and dishing it out to Chiraneau, allowing him to focus on "Focus" actions. Combine that with Recon Spec's additional Focus token, it practically guarantees he'll have two chances of hitting each turn (with the help of the Gunner).
Advanced Sensors would allow Jendon to act before having to move, which I think could prove useful, should the shuttle ever remain stationary for a turn. Tactical Jammer would be nice, if he needed to run interference on other enemy ships.
The list basically is an offensive force meant to take down the enemy as quickly as possible. There's little to be said about it's defensive abilities, since the list practically has none. Thoughts?

Decimator, Moo Cow and 2 TIEs would probably be a better set up. TIEs give you blocking, mobility and more dice, while the lumbering big ships run along.
Chiralneau w/ Vet Instincts and Engine Upgrade
Omicron w/ Vader
2 Academies
That's 99 points, gives you a big PS10 shooter with added mobility, the ultimate finisher in the Doomshuttle plus some jerk TIEs to run interference.
You could also add more upgrades, like crew for Chiralneau, you could swap the TIEs for Dark Curse.

I like Chumby's list.
A variation would be the one Paul Heaver ran at Worlds:
CPT Oicunn
- Engine Upgrade
Omicron Pilot
- Darth Vader
- Engine Upgrade
Obsidian Squadron Pilot x 2
100 Pts.

My main concern with gunner and recon specialist is that it's two very expensive crew members, and... really? 4-5 focused, target locked attack dice and you're putting nearly 10% of your points into what happens if you miss?
Equally, vader on a shuttle is cool. Vader on an expensive shuttle, less so.
Chiraneau with expose is cool, and pairing him with a weapons engineer Jendon makes sense. I might spend the rest of the points trying to give Jendon either some teeth (a heavy laser cannon) or some agility (an engine upgrade).

Yes, exactly. With so many points focused and only a couple of ships, you don't have the volume of fire that other lists do. If you have a bad role, or your opponent has a really good defensive roll, your best ship will have just done nothing. Also, this will help against things like Fat Han as C3PO can only be used once per turn. When firing at a high maneuver ship, they may get that high defensive roll, but statistically much less likely on a second roll. When using the Decimator, you have to make sure you hit especially if you are running the tactician with it. Handing out those stress tokens will keep ships out of arc to fire at you.
