I didn't see a thread yet to discuss the first ever American college football Division I Football Bowl Series playoff.

Many fans disliked the old method of deciding the best team so now we have a new playoff with four teams. They were announced this morning as Oregon, Alabama, Ohio State, and Florida State. This means that four of the big 5 conferences are represented. The fifth conference, the Big 12, was left out. Its two best teams, Texas Christian and Baylor, were co-champions of the conference, and they were ranked 5th and 6th in the polls.

What are your thoughts?

Personally, I think that Baylor and/or TCU got shafted. Honestly, they should be taking that number 4 spot from Felon State.


Yeah, FSU is undefeated. But, if this playoff is, as advertised, a way to ensure the "best possible" matchup for a national title game, how can a team that BARELY beat Notre Dame, barely beat Oklahoma State, and with the scoreline against NC State could be considered to have squeeked a win out there, really provide that "best game"??

I'm looking forward to the whoopin' that Oregon is going to put on them, and then we'll bring on Ohio State or Bama. So, realistically, outside of the Oregon FSU game, the REST of the playoffs should be pretty good games.
