I got my box the other day, and it's excellent, really happy with the quality through and through. Quick question though, how does it relate back to original Dreadball? Will the Convict and Asterian teams from the box be transferable to actual Dreadball games, or can you take a team from the "majors" down to play Xtreme, or is it only the models in the box (and the upcoming Xpansion) that are allowed in Xtreme? Hope that makes sense..

The Season 4,5 and 6 rulebooks will let you play the new DBX teams in regular Dreadball. The Players handbook will let you play the original 12 teams in DBX.

The Season 4 rulebook is due in the second wave in January backers already have it as a pdf. Season 5 and 6 are due with wave 3. The players handbook is part of wave 3.

On a quasi-related note, my gaming buddy went big on DBX KS while I went home (I don't do KSs).

He brought his core DBX by FLGS today and we played a full game using the demonstration team rosters. I got the space elves and he played the convicts and crushed me.

If mine sweeping were points related, I would have won since I seemed to have found all the 6d6 explosives hidden in the crates.

Looks like it's a fun game but I don't know how well it will do in a campaign/league type setting since you have to hire a new team each game. If you get upset with bad die rolls derailing your game, you may want to avoid too. Lots of random with 2 types of cards, coaching dice, fan checks and, of course, explosive-filled crates
