So I just moved out to Oakton Virginia. I'm near the Game Parlor who said that they have a fair Warhammer Fantasy crowd, but I was wanting to see if I could touch base with folks that play Warmachine, and 40k as well, or know of stores where these games are more common.

We retired away from DC this past June. You have a couple of very nice options.

Highly recommend checking out Huzzah Hobbies in Ashburn, VA (should be about 17-20 miles from you depending on your addy). Great store, players and venue for lots of games.

Eagle & Empire in Alexandria is about 20-25 miles away, again depending on your exact Oakton location. Small shop but they have dedicated game nights and weekends so you can link up with other players of your favorite games.

I would double check with Game Parlor on their table play policies. They were charging to play for awhile. Only a couple of bucks but best to ask so you don't get blind-sided.
The other stores have free tables.

I also recommend Huzzah Hobbies in Ashburn... It really is a great store with a great owner.

There is a pretty solid Warmahordes crowd there and I think Flames of War and Bolt Action are fairly popular as well. There is a decent 40K crowd too and they typically have a 40K tournament at least once a month. X-wing is pretty popular there as well.

And some, I assume, are good people."
