Hallowed Canoness

Between

An Explorator team has called for help. Their archaeological expedition has been plagued with accidents, and now something has started picking off the magos and their skitarii one by one. In the area by providence, a Deathwatch kill team has answered the call.

The table
The table should be set up using a mix of wide and narrow corridors, Zone Mortalis and Space Hulk terrain are a good starting point, although as the board represents a Necron tomb, flat-slab architecture etched with geometric patterns and glyphs would be even better.

The Forces
The Necron player has 1000 points to spend on models from the following pool;

Canoptek Scarabs
Canoptek Spyders (1 must be nominated as the Warlord)
Canoptek Tomb Stalkers
Canoptek Tomb Sentinels
Canoptek Wraiths

The Imperial player has 1000 points to spend on models from the following pool;

Techpriest Enginseer
Skitarii (use stats and costs for Militarum Tempestus squads. May be taken outside a Platoon, may not include vehicles)
Sternguard Veteran squads
Vanguard Veteran squads
1 Veteran in the army may be upgraded to a Deathwatch Librarian for 25 points, gaining ML1 and a Force Sword. He may upgrade to ML2 for another 25 points.

Deployment
The Imperial player deploys first. Mechanicus forces (Techpriests and Skitarii) may deploy anywhere on the table. Deathwatch forces (Sternguard Veterans, Vanguard Veterans and the Librarian) must be held in Reserve.

The Necron player deploys second. They may also deploy anywhere on the table, as long as they meet one of the following requirements: more than 12" away from any Imperial models, out of Line of Sight of any Imperial models, or in the Repair Bay.

The Imperial player has first turn. Necrons may not Seize the Initiative.

Objectives
Slay the Warlord, Tomb Entrance, Lower Gates, Repair Bay

The Tomb Entrance is adjacent to one board edge and is the only entry point for Imperial reserves. It is worth 3 Victory Points.

The Lower Gates are sealed, and affected by a powerful entropic field. Imperial models within 3 of them treat all ranged and melee weapons as if they had the Gets Hot special rule. The Lower Gates are worth 3 victory points if held at the end of the game.

The Repair Bay is a large room at least 12" across. Any Necron model inside the Repair Bay has It Will Not Die. The Repair Bay is worth 3 victory points if held by a Necron at the end of the game, or grants 3 Victory Points to the Imperials if all four walls are destroyed. Each wall is treated as an AV10 vehicle with 5 hull points.

Scenario Special Rules
Enclosed Space, Phase Tunnellers, Cinematic Heroes

Enclosed Space
The Tomb is a dangerous place, sealed on all sides. Only models described as teleporting may Deep Strike into the tomb, and Indirect Fire weapons cannot be used.

Phase Tunellers
Wraiths, Tomb Stalkers and Tomb Sentinels are unlikely to fit in many of the corridors in the tomb due to their base size. For the purposes of this game, ignore the models' bases - if using Zone Mortalis, simply put the model on top of the walls if need be. In addition, these models do not need Line of Sight to declare an assault if they are in range. Overwatch may not be fired against a unit assaulting without Line of Sight, and the assaulting model has Initiative 10 on the turn it makes a blind assault.

Cinematic Heroes
Despite the odds being stacked against them, fighting in a hostile environment against monsters that walk through walls and move with lighting speed from in three dimensions, the Deathwatch are mighty heroes, veterans of a thousand such suicide missions. All Deathwatch models (Sternguard Veterans, Vanguard Veterans and the Deathwatch Librarian) gain +1 Toughness, Wounds, Initiative and Attacks, as well as the Feel No Pain and Independent Character special rules. They may also choose their Chapter Tactics on a model-by-model basis, and have their own activations - if two Ultramarines are present, they need not both use the same special tactic at the same time, and one Ultramarine using an ability does not use up the others'.
