Hello!

I am moving to Fort Leavenworth Kansas in a few months after two years overseas. Does anyone in the Kansas/Missouri area have suggestions for places to find 40K players?

Hello! I'll be there in July, myself . You'll have at least one opponent, then

If you are willing to head down to KC there are a few great game shops with regulars. The best of which being Tabletop in Overland Park. http://www.tabletopgameandhobby.com.

The closest to you (that I know of) is The Basement https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Basement-Games-and-Hobbies/130240173653413

There is also the local group that operates out of http://www.Frostreaver.net but that can be hit and miss depending on the time of year.

Lastly, you could always hit me up for a game.

CountCyrus,

Thank you for the run down. Table Top looks fantastic. I do not mind traveling to get in a fun game or two. Do they have a 40K night or can you play at any time?

The Basement seems more a Warmahords and magic shop, do they support 40k?

Frostreaver.net gives me an access denied every time I try to go to the site.

I am an avid collector (ok ok I spend too much!) and love everything from combat patrol to apocalypse games. What are the big Midwest gaming events?

Let me fill in all the details i know: (if anyone else sees this and has better or more up to date info, please correct me)

Table top has a MASSIVE gaming room that is always available during business hours, and often late into the evening. There are 16ish tables in there as well as a large painting station. As for a specific 40k night, i have no idea, but the staff is very helpful/friendly and im sure could set you straight.

The basement supports 40k in the sense that they sell some product. However, to what extent they have a player base i am unaware. They have 4 or so tables in store.

There are a few more in the KC area actually:

Pulp Fiction Comics in Lees Summit has up to 8 tables and supports open gaming.

Game Cafe in Independence has 6ish tables in their next door gaming space.

31st Century games in Olathe has 5 or so tables and supports open gaming. Some painting space too if I remember correctly.

Collecters Cache in Lenexa is a collectable card store that is branching into tabletop wargaming, I havent been but I am told they have a weekly 40k night.

We have a GW as well but i wouldn't recommend gaming there. 2 super crowded tables and not even an ounce of elbow room. It is a hilariously small store, I think tabletop even has a larger selection of GW product.

Frostreaver:
http://www.frostreaver.net/main/ this link should work. Here is a direct forum link: http://www.frostreaver.net/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=7scrnbpq2d6k484obvgaqal4n7;wwwRedirect

Big Tournies:

The Frostreaver guys hold a large-ish tournament in Lees summit yearly. It is called Midwest Massacre GT. Fun event, but attendance has varied significantly in past years.

The Bugeater GT in Omaha is the biggest event in the immediate area.

Hope that clears everything up

Thank you again. I hope to run into you when I arrive in August. I love the game but have not played since the new edition came. I have not played against any of the new codex's so I will lose a bit until I understand the game again.

Are there any Apocalypse sized events? I hear Apoc is now normal for 40k in there are no limits to what you can bring.
