I'm looking for a few alternate models that I could use as substitutes for some hard to find / extremely ugly miniatures, namely the Weaver Widow and Insidious Madness models.

For the Insidious Madness, I found what I think to be the perfect replacement in Hell Dorado's Flesh Demon:



Only problem is that this miniature is almost as hard to find as the original one over here in Europe, so far I only managed to come up with one and I think that I will need at least one more...

For the Weaver Widow, I was thinking about some sort of Drider, but I couldn't find any appropriate model... The closest that I came was Reaper's Latassula, Spider Demon, but she doesn't quite fit Malifaux's theme IMO.



Does anyone have any better suggestions for these two models?

A simpler one for insidious madness would be the old GW metal horrors. I mean its just a mes of flesh, eyes, teeth, etc, it's perfect in my mind.

Widow Weaver is tougher. Personally I love the actual model, especially after reading her story with the Teddy, it just seems to fit the sort of motherly attitude she has towards her 'little' Teddy. But if you were going to go for an alt model that held true to the theme but you just didn't like the original model, perhaps look along the lines of a regular looking victorian person with a mutated/huge mouth or something? Similar to the female Illuminated from Jacob Lynch's box, but you'd be going for threads, spidery limbs and teeth rather than the tentacles the illuminated have going on. That, a victorian-ish dress hiding a bunch of legs, that'd be great.

If you are set on your half spider/half humanoid idea, I can't think of anyone but reaper sorry. Fantasy lines aren't my forte

Urgh, I hate those horror models almost as much as I hate the original Insidious Madness, they are all very poor attempts at the concept.

As for the Weaver Widow, I actually really like Wyrd's model, only problem is that it seems almost impossible to get a hold of one.

So you're saying I couldn't have recommended a better model That Hell Dorado one is pretty good, I was just trying to think of similarish things that are probably easier to find, I'll give it some more thought...

And yeah it's an absolute pain to track down the widow weaver. For a reasonable price that is. I'm interested to see if they'll top the old model or if it'll be no good. Hopefully a good model that doesn't have a 12 piece parasol
