Galactic News Network
Diseased Traitor Marines Invade Station Loreli

The GNN News Desk received servo cam-pod pics early this morning showing a Nurgle detachment moving into recently abandoned Camp Loreli
on the fringe of the Dead Man Plains north of Hive Cragel. A recon force of Blood Angels were sent to investigate.

Squad Alpha, accompanied by a Speeder pass the statue of venerated Blood Angel Phlybotumous, Nurgle warriors spotted in the distance.

To the far right, a Chaos sorcerer is seen chanting incantations over an alter.

Squad Alpha is joined by Librarian Hemo-Globin as the speeder moves on the near Nurgle squad.

The Speeder puts heavy flame on the Nurglites, but with limited effect

The Nurglites assault the Speeder, knocking it down

Squad Alpha is not far behind and move to rescue the Speeder crew

They vent their wrath upon the diseased Space Marines

The leader of the unclean ones challenges Sgt Whitcell

Their duel continues while Squad Alpha pummels the Nurgle squad

On the far right, the Chaos Sorcerer apparently mispronounces one of the ‘magic’ words and succumbs to the perils of the Warp

Meanwhile lurking near a building right of the ‘altar’ is a dreaded Obliterator who rains assault cannon shells
down on Blood Angel Squad Bravo moving in on the blasphemous alter of the dark gods.

The Obliterator then moves up to the building’s second floor to gain a better firing position as Squad Bravo moves behind cover

Squad Bravo fires on the Nurgle squad that had been guarding the late sorcerer, but to no effect

In a bold move, Squad Bravo breaks cover to attack the Nurglites as the Squad Alpha battle continues in the distance.
The Obliterator decides to move toward the alter to protect it from any machinations Squad Bravo may have planned.
Strangely, the Nurglites move away from Squad Bravo, perhaps to aid their comrades locked in combat with Squad Alpha.

Sgt. Whitcell fells the Nurgle Sergeant and joins his squad to put down the last of the diseased minions.

Librarian Hemo-Globin stands guard on the sacred statue as the fighting continues

The survivors of Squad Bravo move to destroy the unclean altar, but to no avail as the Obliterator’s firepower is just too strong.

It now becomes apparent that the Chaos Marines have a darker goal as the remaining squad moves toward
the sacred statue of trooper Phlybotumous . Squad Alpha quickly retrace their steps as Librarian Hemo-Globin
is seriously wounded and the statue is virtually undefended

Although their fire is true, Squad Alpha cannot bring them all down as they dash through the woods.

In a final lunge, the surviving Nurglites reach the statue

In a blaze of light, an insidious Chaos Demon appears at the foot of the statue.
It is now apparent the reason for the Chaos incursion. Knowing they were ill-prepared to fight such a beast,
the Blood Angels beat a hasty retreat to summon reinforcements.

GNN will provide updates to the situation as they become available.

Perhaps not, but since GW seems to subsist off sadness and pain, I can't rule it out.
