Subject: 500 points Emperor's Children - competative

This is an Emperor's Children army, and I am hoping to make it faitly competative, and a mix between shooting and combat. My regular opponents are Orks, Tyranids, Tau, Space Marines and Eldar. HQ Daemon Prince: Lord w/ 2x Close Combat Weapons, Personal Icon, Daemonic Stature & Mark of Slaanesh. 97 Troops Chaos Space Marines 1: Aspiring Champion w/ Bolt Pistol, Power Fist & Daemonic Visage. 5 Chaos Marines w/ 4 Sonic Blasters, Blastmaster & Mark of Slaanesh. 155 Chaos Space Marines 2: Aspiring Champion w/ Bolt Pistol, Power Fist & Daemonic Visage. 5 Chaos Marines w/ 4 Sonic Blasters, Blastmaster & Mark of Slaanesh. 155 Daemon Pack: 6 Daemonetes. 90 497 3 The Plan: Its quite simple- the Daemon Prince takes all the fire (which isn't a lot at this level) and the Daemonettes summon onto him. The Chaos Marines lay down supressing firepower as they advance into range to use the "heavy" option of their guns. So, what do you tihnk of this list? What should I spend the last 3 points on? Isn it any good against my "regulars" (got a local tournament coming up)

I would recommend swapping the dprince for a chaos lt with some minor psychic powers and some cc buffs. That, and a whole lotta daemonettes.
The lt uses siren - you could put infiltrate or something on him to make sure you deploy out of los and can get close enough for when the 'nettes come in. You can lay down a whole lotta hurt at 500 pts with a couple squads of 6 'nettes coming in on top of the enemy. Most armies won't be able to put distance between your lt and them so the daemonettes will get the charge on the turn they come in.

Addendum (sorry about the double post - didn't want to risk losing the previous stuff to the dakka post editor of doom)
My suggestion is basically completely a different approach to the scenario from the one your army is taking right now. I'm suggesting a weird kind of 500pt daemonbomb. I think the daemonbomb is more dangerous, especially against infantry armies, but it will have difficulty against armor (leman russ? hammerhead?). If you're likely to face a lot of armor then a list more like the one you have might be better. The only problem that I see is that, if I'm facing that, the daemonprince and the daemonettes that he will be bringing in are a much bigger threat than your static ec marines squads. So I would concentrate everything on it and make sure it died asap.
Also I think some points can be saved by dropping some buffs on your ec marines squads. You want them for shooting. Only assault things like tau and guard, if, for some very strange reason, they get that close. Your ec marines shouldn't be moving too much, so at most take a power weapon on the champs. If you exchange the pfists + visage for something more minor like a power weapon or even a ccw, you should get enough points out of that to buff your prince or something. That would be a good place to get the aforementioned minor psychic powers to ensure that your daemonettes get into cc.

I think the shooty armies are going to shoot the crud out of you, and the HtH armies will drown you with numbers. You just don't have enough models or enough speed. You might do a little better if you came up with some points to give your prince Speed or Flight. He needs to be faster to actually threaten the enemy and do his jobs- drawing fire and summoning the daemonettes close enough to do something.

@ SuiMa:
I need to take 50 points worth of Psychic Powers to reliably get Siren. That is a LOT in points - and I can still risk not getting it.
The Prince has 5 attacks at essentially In. 6 - what's not to like about that? Its cheap, will stick around (3+ save) and hits people easily. oh, and ignores armour saves, and si cheap to boot.
I tried to avoid expensive super-units, as it is only 500 points.
@ Mannahnin
Shooty army - what can pack so much firepower to be able to obliterate me? Its only 500 points.
horde army - the firepower would weaken them first, as there wont be thousands ofthem - its only 500 points.
I have played Guard and Orks - and with both armies, there is still only little firepower/combat ability - as there aren't enough points to get the numbers to bring the army to bear.
Maybe I am wrong, but I dont think I would get swamped - the Squads put out a lot of firepower, and the Lord + 'Nettes have good combat ability. And, at 500 points, we play (in my area) on a relatively small board. 2-3 turns of moving gets you into combat (depends on the armiesinvolved, naturally). Thisis perfect for summoning, in my experience.

I like the striped down lord, but s/he really needs a movement option. Speed is my suggestion, and you can get the points by: - dropping the icon on the lord
- downgrading one fist to a power weapon (letting you take advantage of the MoS to boot)
I can see how you might be planning around the lord pushing forward and dropping 'nettes, and honestly I think this tactic only works well if the lord has speed/flight. WITH that in mind, I guess another place to find 15 points might be: 3 leftover points (+3), drop visages (+4), downgrade both fists (+10) = 17 points. With the last 2 I'd suggest frag grendaes for the dp. - Boss Salvage
