Hey everyone I am EXTREMELY new to this game. In fact i haven't played any miniature game so this is a lot to take in but seems freaking awesome. I'm a long time MTG player but the grind kinda took me out of it with so many expansions a year and every year things rotate and..well it was too much. Anyways I was drawn to the Cryx because i like the undead aspect of many table top games and so forth. Being im very new to this and want to start slow i was interested in the battlebox for the cryx. Then i found out everyone that is starting up with me decided to go battle box AND buy more to get a 25 point army. I was just wondering if this is a nice army to start with because this is like i said a lot to take in because there so much cool stuff.

Warwitch Deneghra
Deathripper
Deathripper
Defiler
Slayer
Skarlock Thrall
Mechanithralls (Leader and 5 Grunts)
Necrosurgeon & 3 Stitch Thralls
Necrosurgeon & 3 Stitch Thralls
Warwitch siren

I figured 2 necros with a group of mechanithralls seem really powerful with the necrosurgery, sacrificial pawn and heals would be really smooth.
as for my jacks i really wanted to run a nightmare or deathjack but im trying to keep the cost down a bit since im just starting so im going witht he battle box stuff
Skarlock seemed worth it with Denny because i can keep her back somewhat back and cast something through him (atleast thats what it seems like if im wrong please let me know)
the siren seems ok with her speed and seduction and she seemed to have nice utility especially since she has a low MAT denny's debuff would let her atleast hit if need be

am i on the right track here or am i all kinds of screwed up. Im thankful the warmachine community isnt as stuck up or elitist as some other games toward players wanting to learn....warhammer im looking at you.
I look foward to see if i did good and just drop 140 bucks or what. thanks ahead of time everyone.

That's a really good start.

Having double neurosurgeons is always good when running Mcthralls (if you have the points) because you can potentially make more thralls (Max 6 vice 3). In practice, it makes it much harder to take out the lynchpin parts of the recursion machine with two.

The skarlock and WWS are gold, and they fit with most any caster. Both help with focus economy (the WWS can powerboost a node, saving Denny a focus for casting), but the WWS is also a great utility piece.

Eventually you'll want to swap the slayer for a different heavy (or remove it entirely), but it's a solid starting jack. Likewise, most casters only want 2 nodes, but 3 is fine to start out.

Oh, funny thing to do with WWS. Attack a non-reach heavy at max reach range. Since most heavies have lower def, you stand a decent chance to hit and since it can't move under shadowbinding, it can't move up to retaliate.

Your concept is pretty solid. As Cryx's premiere debuff caster, Denny 1 can run just about anything well. McThralls combo striking under feat + crippling grasp or parasite is just ridiculous damage for how cheap they are. My only critique of your list would be to take more mechanithralls. Thralls with double necros are really good, but I would be worried that all 6 from your minimum unit could get killed (re-killed?) before they had a chance to reanimate. Maybe consider trading a surgeon or the siren to max out the thralls. Or not. If you're careful to keep 1 thrall back and safe, you could live the dream as you place up to 6 new thralls a turn.

It looks like you have arc node rules confused with the skarlock. Arc nodes are what you can cast spells through (fortunately all three of your lights have them). Skarlocks are actually casting the spell, they pick a spell off the warcster's spell card and use it's focus stat to hit. Generally Skarlocks are great for getting out expensive buff spells that don't require hit rolls. If he throws out Ghost Walk every turn, he is points well spent.

Finally, welcome to the community!
