So here is (yet another) Dark Angels Idea. This one could be a data-slate, or just a supplement.

So how about Chaplain only wargear that only affects the unit they are equipped with? Even cooler would be the idea that it does one thing for Chaplains and a better thing for Interrogator Chaplains! This would fit with the Dark Angels theme, but provide a noticeable buff (and a better reason to take chaplains!)

Some ideas: (currently all replacing the Chaplains normal Crozius Arcanum, and they are all unique.)

Crozius of Plasma: (40pts) all plasma weapons in the Chaplains unit count as twin-linked. If the Chaplain is instead a Interrogator Chaplain: they may also fire their plasma weapons one additional time in the shooting phase.

Crozius of Protection: (50pts) the chaplains unit turns their current armor save to an invulnerable save. If the Chaplain is instead a Interrogator Chaplain: they also improve their toughness by +1.

Crozius of Hatred: (30pts) the chaplains unit gains Rage and Counter Attack. If the Chaplain is instead a Interrogator Chaplain: they also increase their attacks by +1.

Crozius of Divine Light: (30pts) the chaplain's unit ignores cover when making ranged attacks. If the Chaplain is instead an interrogator chaplain: their weapons have the “blind” special rule as well.

What do you guys think? The points are still quite rough, but you get the idea I'm sure.

Plasma Crozius: I don't know if twin-linking really benefits BS4/BS5 marines that much. Is Plasma really this prolific in units a Chaplain can join? Maybe if you're Ravenwing, but even then seems like a lot of points when you can buy another plasma biker (almost) instead.

Protection Crozius: 3++ Marines, 2++ Termies with a T5 Chaplain is top troll for 50 points. I think this is a bit OP. Most armies pay this and get something like a 5++.

Hatred Crozius: Probably the mildest in the lot, I think this is in-line with what a space wolf blood claw would pay versus a typical Dark Angel or vanilla Marine Tactical. Maybe 35 points? I think this would be neat, could be nasty on certain squads and I could see wide spread use in tournaments on assault units.

Divien Light Crozius: OP as heck for 30 points and I don't think we need more ignores cover stuff..

Some interesting ideas but I think DA units need point reduction to bring them in line with the current trend of codexes. Some of these are neat since Chaplains aren't terribly used models and this would get more on the table.

I'm terrible at points, honestly, and I was going to just use Xpts and have people suggest, so I should probably stick to that.

Maybe for the Divine light one I could flip flop it? Blind first and then ignore cover.

The protection one is pretty dang powerful, but as it's limited to one unit, well, even a max group of terminators doesn't seem like it would get buffed that much
(small arms guys would still just pour in the fire to kill them.)
Obviously the points would have to go up of course.

The plasma one seems like it would be best on a vet squad with four plasma guns (3 shots at close range, all twin linked, youch!) Again though: the points probably need to be adjusted.

And I think for the rage one I pretty much just copied a different relic from one of the older codex's :-P (also probably why it's the best balanced!)
