Inquisition Ignites Conflict

Over recent weeks, Blood Angel Command in the Capella sector has been beset by a number of engagements
defending sacred relics and venerated remains of Imperial saints. Official sources speculate that possible anomalies
in the Warp have somehow energized these relics and, if in the wrong hands, could spell trouble for the Imperium.
Serious trouble.

As a result, the Inquisition has declared that certain ‘identified items’ must be destroyed. One of these items is the remains of Darimoth the Wise,
a Blood Angel Librarian who fell during the Blackfang Crusade. This became apparent when the Blood Angels intercepted communications between
Adepta Soroitas units closing on the Chapel of Saint Darimoth. A Blood Angel combat command under Librarian Marcloth was immediately
dispatched to secure the remains and move them to safe haven.

Recon drones were vectored to the area. The GNN News Desk was able to download a number of cam-pod pics of the action that took place.

Soroitas armor approaches the Chapel

Librarian Marcloth and Bravo Squad, accompanied by a Baal Predator arrive minutes later

A Predator, Speeder and Squad Alpha move forward on their right.

An Immolator advances directly to the Chapel as other armored units take up positions.

The sacred Urn rests on the Chapel's south facing

On the Angel left, the Baal Predator and another Speeder begin a flanking movement

Brother Endemas, who had served with Darimoth, is incensed by the Sister’s effrontery and impetuously strides forward.

Sisters transports take up positions on the Chapel’s north side and a squad armed with Melta guns debark,
their leader ordering the Blood Angels to turn around. Four Melta guns meanwhile fry the predator which explodes.

The Blood Angels continue forward, The Baal Predator and Speeder securing the left in the distance, another Speeder closing on the right.

A specialized Sororitas assault vehicle pops smoke while Immolators move forward to block Brother Endemas’ advance.

The Immolators open fire, glancing Brother Endemas whose return Multi Melta shot goes wide.

Now truly angered, the Dreadnaught walks up to the Immolator and puts his power claw deep into the tank’s engine.
He then lifts the Immolator and flips it onto its roof.

A squad of Sisters pour from the destroyed tank and set to face the Baal Predator.
Another squad debarks and puts killing Melta fire on the Dreadnaught causing it to explode.

A Speeder closes on Sisters armed with heavy bolters and wounds two of them.

As the Dreadnaught burns, the Baal Predator fires on the Immolator survivors who gain cover from the woods

The Sisters from the destroyed Immolator get set to fire on the Baal Predator, inspiring each other to fire true

Their fire is true as the Baal Predator erupts in a massive explosion. Heavy Bolter fire downs the Speeder.

Squad Bravo sees the explosion and resolve to revenge their brothers’ demise

On the right, Squad Alpha advances and the Sister squad leader issues a final warning to halt

Squad Bravo fires on the Sisters

The Speeder fires on the assault vehicle but the smoke fouls their aim. The vehicle fires back and wounds the Speeder pilot

With the Speeder shaken, the assault vehicle moves out and disgorges the Sisters’ command squad

The command squad opens up with heavy flamers

As the smoke clears, six Blood Angels are down

The Speeder withdraws to cover as an engine is malfunctioning and the pilot binds his wound.

The Red Thirst aroused, Squad Alpha charges the Sisters Melta squad with maniacal fury

As the fight rages, the command squad moves in behind

Squad Alpha wipes out the Sisters’ squad and advances on the assault vehicle that has moved to bar their way

They assault with krak grenades but the armor is strong and the crew is only shaken

The assault vehicle moves back, but is clearly damaged

Meanwhile, Squad Bravo fires on the Baal killers and wounds them all

The Speeder crew realize the situation is getting desperate and move out in a last ditch attempt to drive the Sisters back.

The command squad closes on Squad Alpha

They unleash their heavy flamers and three Angels fall

Trooper Canlin survives and lines up his lascannon to eliminate the Immolator blocking
Squad Bravo’s advance, but alas the flamers have disrupted the gun’s circuits and it misfires.

Three Sisters set to hold back the Blood Angels

The Speeder moves to point blank range and fires the heavy flamer. Unfortunately, the pilot is near delirious from his wounds
and left the nozzle adjustment on ‘Long Range’, allowing the Sisters to dodge the flame as it engulfs the Urn.

The Urn is undamaged, and the Sisters’ return Melta fire destroys the Speeder.
With the prize secured, the Sisters call in air transport to lift the Urn out of the area.

Clearly incensed by the Inquisition’s audacity in absconding with a treasured relic,
Capella sector command issued a strong protest to the highest authorities, but as all well know,
the Inquisition operates on its own authority and such protests are rarely acknowledged.

GNN will follow all the developments as they happen. Stayed tuned to this channel for further reports.

Addendum: Steve’s Sisters were played superbly, achieving the win.
Chances are his force will grow stronger in the coming months.

Go Sisters! That Command Squad was devastating. Don't see many lists that run a Cannoness and no special characters. Kudos to the Sisters player for trying somethng a bit different

Good job, I too have purple sisters...

"Suffering is Faith, Faith is Strength.

Generations have suffered with the same devotion that we can offer but once. Still, our Faith leads us through these dark times like a beacon. It will guide us to triumph over these abominations. Either by breaking them upon us like waves against a limitless, golden peak or by thrusting through them like the spear of the Immortal Emperor Himself." - Cannoness Aoife, Order of the desert rose #Yesallwomen
