Hello

Anyone have played the heroclix game using campaigns? using reference from the comic books. Not interested to play the game using the tournament meta.

my friends and i were all die hard into heroclix back in the day, and once a week a big group of us would get together and play a campaign or scenerio(themed lists or restrictions to not allow power lists). I'm not sure if the game has evolved or devolved, i can say wizkids began the downward slide on all of their games when they brought out those stupid cards. we also played mechwarrior and mage knight also, both great games for campaigns and scnenerios, but once again ruined by cards and in mechwarriors case the pog chucking artillery

I intend to do a campaign based on Days of Futures Past, since I own the entire set that came out, and I just need to pick up a few more figures for the 'current' day heros and villains. I own plenty of sentinels and Nimrod to act as an awesome third party force that will come in as the campaign progresses, with things altering depending on which side wins or loses each battle.

Sort of a pseudo-What If!? scenario.

No, never even thought of it. Me and about 10 others got really tired of clix's a little while back, the regular sunday touney's saw the same models rotated as points and type changed. The local scene here was just as cut throat as MTG. Doing a campaign would interest me, pick any ramdom mini series or event base crossover and players can only have teams based on who participated in that series, also all characters are unique each model has a point limit. this might resurrect clix's for us who just said feth it.

Thanks for the Idea.

campaigns were fun in that game, as long as everybody agreed to leave the cheese pieces in the box...i had a hooker army(can't remeber the kid friendly name they gave it) it was about 50 hookers with perplex and a sentinel...

If your wanting to play more for fun or fluffy then just talk to the people you play with. I think every game I've played I like to bring fun themed army's. Not a fan of power gaming.

Same here. I love X-Men with a passion, so I enjoy bringing an X-men team with me to every game night. Though it's really annoying to face someone using Superman with the Phoenix Force or something. Of course, I'm not trying to tell people how to have their fun. But it still makes my eye twitch a little bit. The only time I 'power gamed' was the first tournament I played since before Armor Wars. I had pulled my Nimrod from the Days of Futures Past gravity set, and I really wanted to play him. It was a 400 pt Con In Your Store event. I won second place using JUST Nimrod. I got called out by people using multiple dumb chases from the SLOSH set or War of the Light entities along with full Lantern batteries and other fully stocked up resource bases. Made me laugh a little, but I still had a good time and won a Captain America Sentinel. Needless to say, I likely won't play in tournaments much anymore. Still fun to beat them from time to time in casuals using just one man armies and wining against their cheese fests XDD

Still enjoy the game immensely. But like any game, negotiation can go a long way. A simple "Hey, can we not use the silliness pieces?" can be the difference between a game or no game at all.
