Does anyone else think that a Lord of War with access to the Belly Gun be game breaking? It has AP 3 and at its worst is bigger than a large blast and at best covers an absolutely insane 3 foot (18 inch radius) area. I know it is unlikely to roll triple 6's but even an average roll covers 18 to 24(2ft). Sure you get cover saves but that is still a huge chunk especially considering that your typical apocalypse blast is no larger than 10 inches across even the deff gun on a stompa is only 7 inches across. I'm not complaining hell I play orks. I just want to get some opinions. Thanks for any response guys!

Your measurments are off.

18 inches is actually 1.5 feet.

INSANE army lists still available!!!! Now being written in 8th edition format! I have Index Imperium 1, Index Imperium 2, Index Xenos 2, Codex Orks Codex Tyranids, Codex Blood Angels and Codex Space Marines!
PM me for an INSANE (100K+ points) if you desire.

No.... 18 inch radius = 36 inch diameter = 3 feet

To answer your question it depends. I play orks and I love the belly gun but sometimes it actually isn't that helpful. The lictor bonus to cover saves combined with actual cover and night fighting made my gun very useless with a 2+ cover.

On another note against marines it can be very awesome but after the first turn you are more than likely going to be shooting your own models off the board by shooting it. 20 inch blast will be your average and then it can still scatter.

So I wouldn't say it's game breaking or cheese but at the same time it's not as effective as some people might think.

Thanks for clarifying in both regards. I actually never used it so I wanted to get some perspective. Thanks again!

The flamebelcha might be more useful especially againsr tyranids since it ignores cover.

There are two different belly guns. The FW version is pretty nasty with the giant blast it can produce. The GW version is simply another deff kannon in the belly.

Armies:
The Iron Waagh: 10,000+ 8th Edition Tournament Record: 4-7-1
Salamanders: 5,000 8th Edition Tournament Record: 4-2
Ultramarines: 4,000
Armored Battle Company (DKoK): 4000
Elysians: 500
Khorne Daemons: 2500
