Well at adepticon bits trading a picked up a full on hobbit army of over 60+ minis. 20 milita, 20 archers, 20 shirriffs, 2 archers with horn a lobelia and 2 bull roarers on foot.
Combined with the finecast "hobbits of the shire" and the old scouring of the shire box I have everything needed for a maxed out hobbit army save for few more blisters of hobbits a mounted bullroarer took and a single hound for farmer maggot.
Since the lot did come with 2 bullroarers on foot I was thinking rather then blowing $40 to $60 on ebay I would try to cut up the spare foot version and slap him on a horse.
Now my greenstuff skills are nothing too write home about but i think if i can keep to only having to sculpt a few joints i would give it a go. What horse would be best suited for the job? My bits box has a sea of more riders of rohan then i would ever need even for a war of the ring army so one of those would be nice to use vs buying a new horse mini.
How would you go about doing this? my first thought was cut in half at the waist (just below his belt then cut the legs into 2 seperate parts, file down the top of the legs so they can have positions changed, cut the legs into 2 further parts each at the knee and again reposition. Then pin everything into place and roll up some greestuff and hope i did not just ruin the mini.
His left leg looks like it could get by without much work. the right leg looks like the knee would need to be repositioned for sure.
