Out of my Mind

Pick up game vs. Blood Angels. 2 Near fully painted forces I had to take pix. He forgot his Tactical Cards so we went Eternal War, got Big Guns. I deployed first, normally opt to go 2nd, but with Drop Pods, I want my Flayed Ones to be able to charge sooner than wait to be charged.

----- My List -----
Zahndrekh
20 Warriors
19 Warriors
18 Warriors
18 Warriors
10 Immortals (T)
10 Immortals (T)
5 Tomb Blades (SV,N,PB)
10 Flayed Ones
10 Flayed Ones

My current Decurions all have an emphasis on the Legion itself, so no other formations. I've been a fan of Flayed Ones, and even made effective use of them in the Last Codex. I really like them now and I'm on the hunt through my storage for the second unit. Same goes for the Tomb Blades, only used 5 because I needed to find the others in storage.

----- Blood Angels -----
He was using some formation from Exterminatus or something that had a lot of Elite Slots.

Some named guy from the book
Chaplain in Terminator Armor
Death Company Chaplain (Might have been a Character)
2x5 Terminators
2x Dreads - 1 in Drop Pod
Land Raider Crusader
Predator w/ACs and HBs
Remaining points in Death Company Jump Packs

----------
Setup

This is the First game where I actually played with a 4th block of Warriors. I don't plan on keeping this but I didn't have the second unit of Tomb Blades yet. It's quite cramped as you can see, but every unit has one model in range of Zahndrekh.

When my opponent saw my list before even agreeing to play he commented that it didn't look so bad, until he saw it on the Table. He was quite impressed. He had the Drop Pod and the Death Company in reserve.

Turn 1

N1 - Not much happened here. He failed to seize. Took 2 Hull Points off the Raider. He saved 3 more because of Night Fight. Flayed Ones hit the Objective and got 'Sabotaged' which didn't do anything for the Game.

B1 - Bad News for the Drop Pod as it scattered 10" off the board allowing me to place it on the mishap, creating a block for both of his Vehicles. That forced the Land Raider around. He only managed to drop a few FOs and 2 Tomb Blades. He got his objective with Skyfire which was great to take out my non existent flyers.

Turn 2

N2 - Zahndrekh takes 'Target Priority'. It doesn't look like much changed, but the Land Raider and first Dread went down from the first of each unit to shoot at them. This left the Terminators that were in the LRC to get lit up, then hit with the Flayed Ones. His Warlord survived with 1 Wound from that brutal Shooting and Assault.

B2 - Death Company arrives in the back where he originally wanted the dread to go. He ran to spread out instead of shooting. Warriors took some hits from the DP and Pred. The last Dread ended up running. He managed to roll a 6 on his run for the second time putting that dread in range. Bad Luck strikes again as snake eyes rolled for the second unit of Termies to save their doomed leader. Flayed Ones minced him, but he decided to not swing with his thunder hammer taking a Flayed One out before going.

Turn 3

N3 - Pretty much game over. Unit shoots 2 out of 3 Hull Points off the last Dread. The 19 Warriors ignore the Pred and go after the Termies before the Flayed Ones finished them off. The POOR poor Death company took shooting from 2 units of Warriors, 2 Units of Immortals all re-roling 1s, and 3 small blasts from the Tomb Blades. He was happy that 5 survived until I charged with both Immortal squads and 1 of the units of Warriors. Leaving the Chaplain and 1 other left.

B3 - Predator and DP go after more Warriors. Blood Angels finally get to declare their first charge of the game, only to have the last HP removed on Overwatch. Death Company get blunted to death.

Aftermath of where DC was.

We played until the end. I killed the Pred with just one unit, but left the DP with 1 HP. DP killed 1 more Warrior before dying off in T5.
-----

Opponent was a Very good sport, had fun and shook my hand even. My 2nd game vs. BA and the FOs infiltration proved frustrating because they can't assault. Would've normally done it if I didn't take out the First Dread to stop him from getting into my line.

Heroes were definitely that first squad of FOs. They took down 7 Terminators, and 2 Characters in CC and survived.

Your Necron army looks really cool all lined up like that, kind of awesome that it's also super effective. Thanks for the batrep!
