Hey guys, recently got into Dreadball, and have been looking into picking it up for my local guys. Unfortunately my favourite teams are the female human corps, and the robots. It doesn't seem like I can buy those two together. Should I just buy the normal starter set, or is it more worth it to buy the teams I enjoy, and make my own game board?

It depends... it isn't just the board you need, it is the full rulebook, card deck, refbot, and counters as well.

Acrylic counters: $10
Refbot: $5
Card deck: $9
Rulebook: $25

Mantic will be releasing a rubber mat dreadball pitch soon as well, not sure on pricing but I imagine it will be around $25 like all their other mats.

So, that would be $74 total for everything you need, compared to $80 for the boxed game.

You wouldn't get any teams for your $74 there, but you would get some better quality components (rubber mat and acrylics counters are a big upgrade over the card ones).

If you don't want to wait for Mantic to release the rubber mat pitch and can maybe sell the two teams in the box to some of your group then it might be better to just buy the box game.
