All the feedback I've been getting on my theoretical lists have been pretty helpful. At this point I'm just working on learning how the Khador playstyle works best, and I'm trying to fine tune my list building abilities so that I'll eventually be able to design a list that is fairly well rounded and capable of holding its own against a number of different list builds. This is the current list I'm working towards building. I have about 50% of the pieces and would like some insight before I start purchasing things that I'll end up dumping out of the list later on for better models. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
This is also a Tier 3 list.
eSorscah +6
Bonded: Kodiak -7
Beast 09 -11
Winterguard Infantry(Max unit) - 6
Officer and Standard UA -2
Rocketeer -1
Winterguard Rifle Corp(min unit) - 5
Kovnik Joe -2
Man-o-War Shocktroopers(min unit) -6
Man-o-War Demo Corp(max unit) - 9
Widowmakers - 4
Battle Mechaniks(max unit) -3
So the benefits of having a tier 3 list are Kodiaks cost one point less, I get to place a 3' forest template for every two units(so 3 in this instance), and man-o-war units get Advanced Movement). I plan on bonding the Kodiak to Sorscha, allowing it to freeze any enemy models that end thier activation withing 2" of it. That works well with the Kodiak who has Chain Attack: Smash and Grab, since hell essentially be able to destroy anything that doesn't finish him first. Also with Pathfinder and Heavy Boiler(allowing him to run for free) he's a pretty mobile Heavy jack and Sorscha can make him more so with Boundless Charge if necessary. But my plan for positioning with the Kodiak for the Early turns is to use it as a deterrent against melee units hoping to charge the widowmakers, which will be taking full advantage of the forest templates Im able to place thanks to the tier bonus, giving them a def of 18 in concealment, and positiong them in a satifactory place to hunker down and gain that +2 aiming bonus. Also, they become slightly more dangerous with Sorscha's shatterstrom upkeep, that allows them to remove from play any models that they box, and center a POW 8 3" AoE on the boxed model. WHich could potentially result in 4 POW 8 AoE's eating through a weaker unit. The Rifle Corp provide long range fire power to the opposite flank, and also benefit from the Kovnik Joe solo, but he's primarily thier to buff up the WGDS. However, i think at least for the first and second turn the Rifle Corp would benefit from boosted attack rolls, as they kind of take pot shots at anything from 14" away. They also allow for a higer degree of field control with thier supressive fire ability, where im able to center a 3" AoE that will probably force my opponent to try to manuever around it. The Man-o-War units serve as a frontline for me. You could do worse than to try and tar-pit with the initial 3 Shocktroopers, who will more than likely eat up a good chunk of my opponents resources as he tries to dispose of them, but the hard hitting demo corp should be pretty fearsom coming up behind the shock troopers and mopping up and heavy infantry or jacks that might prove dangerous. The WGDS is the second wave for me, and once they get into place they are obviously a force to be reckoned with, even more so under eSroscha who can give them additional movement or let them reroll failed CRA's. The battle Mechs will more or less keep Beast 09 alive for more turns, but they arent above charging any essential solos or minor pieces that might be giving my opponent some additional benefits, like choir of menoth or maybe some of the Convergence servitors. Beast 09 is a whopping threat, once again, especially with eSorcha. He would do well to sit back and see how the rest of the army fairs for the first few turns before i start swarming into things with him and the kodiak. It's like a heavy infantry sandwhich, with the Man-o-wars leading the assault the WGDS doing its thing, and then the two heavies moving in afterwards to deal with anything to large for the infantry. The long range guns on either side pick apart chinks in the opponents armor.
So what do you think?
