Here is an update on the story with a new video.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-32371243
L'Hermione has set sail for the USA.
If you can't see the videos because they are hosted by the BBC, look for the story on other news channels. It must be reported fairly widely.

Royal Navy should intercept this for interfering with Empire biznez. Albeit two centuries late those Fenchies need to be kept in place.
Would be an easy sink with a Type 45 frigate.
That'd learn 'em, that'd learn 'em good.
Seriously I hope there is documentary on this.

What?
Take her as a prize! The French were far better shipbuilders than the British at the time, mostly due to larger forest reserves and a much bigger economy. But they made the mistake of crewing them with Frenchmen; this was very easily rectifiable.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

All I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by.
Also /what/ Royal Navy? The French are a far more significant naval power then Britain at the moment. Albeit a lot of that is credited to the Charles De Gaulle, but that's just Britain's fault for not being willing to deal in actual modern Naval power.

You should sally forth the Victory for a paintball match between her, the French frigate and Old Irosides. Careful though, while Victory might be fitted with paintball guns, a TOW missile or two might accidentally find their way aboard the US ship. We've been known to cheat.
