When watching "If the Emperor Had a Text-to-Speech Device" (great YouTube series, by the way) I suddenly realized that Cegorach's name, when pronounced in a particular way, sounds an awful lot like Sheogorath, the mad-god from the Elder Scrolls series. Is this a coincidence, or do they both have their origins in the same real-world mythology?

I would guess it is not a coincidence and that both names can be traced back to some kind of Celtic reference.

I think that is more an artifact of the system the animator uses to voice the Emperor's text-to-speech device (when the Emperor is in another form, like when he confronts Tzeentch, he has a different voice).

That or the one who voices the Emperor might not know how to pronounce it exactly. Niether do I, but I think The Eldar Laugh God came around before the "Mad God" in Elder Scrolls, ill have to look up. At the same time Im sure there is a God of sorts that could be similar in real world mythology. Loki is the only one that pops up in my mind at the moment, but I am not 100% versed in mythology of the world.
