Ok so most of is are familiar with the scenario, if not here it is
(http://wizkids.com/attackwing/star-trek-attack-wing-peak-performance-episode-organized-play-kit/)

So here are the possibilities I am thinking

the Klingon Swarm

20 B'Rel
05 Martok 8

20 B'Rel
04 Koloth

20 B'Rel
04 Chang 7

20 B'Rel
04 Gowron

20 B'Rel
03 Worf

120 total

There is nothing complicated about this list, but it is always fun to see 4+ ships in a fleet and Klingons do it well.

Romulan bunkers with a little buddy

38 Scimitar
03 Salatrel
02 Interphase Generator*
02 Interphase Generator*

36 Reman Warbird
04 Mendak
05 Indy Fleet Captain (Tech*)
00 Elite Talent
03 Advanced Cloaking*
02 Interphase Generator*

14 Praetus
01 Centurion
02 Cloaked Mines*
02 Cloaked Mines*
05 Disruptor Beams

119 Total

Personally I like this one the best, but I am partial to my Romulans . The Reman Warbird is a heavy ship that can dish out some damage and soak some up. In an average game it can take 40-50 mins to table a good opponent so I doubt you will be able take out an enemy more than twice. Romulan bunkers are sturdy enough to make it through that.

Tholian flying circus

14 Tholian ship
05 Karr
05 Indy Fleet Captain (weapon*)
00 Stalking mode
02 Research Mission
04 energy web*
04 Photon Torpedoes*

16 Tholia One
05 Khan
02 Invaluable Advice
04 energy web*
04 photons torpedoes*

14 Tholian Ship
04 Chakotey
05 Faked Messages
04 energy web*
04 photon torpedoes

14 Tholian ship
04 Lore
02 Sakonna
02 energy web*
02 photon torpedoes*

120 total

This seems fun. Spread as many webs the first 2-3 rounds then hide behind them and hit the opponent with torpedoes. Tholians suffer no penalties for moving or shooting through the web, but enemies take big damage and I get +1 defense die for each one the shoot through. Shooting at skill 9,8,7,6 not bad. Karr has the potential to throw 7 die torpedo attacks plus a double reroll, not shabby. Khan gets 1 torp attack with BS also nice. Not a game breaking fleet but could be fun and catch some people napping. If I can drop webs for 2 turns in a row with everyone that is 4 dice with no defense each time someone flies into them. The web tokens stay out as long as I have 1 tholian ship on the table. With the respawning I only have to hope I don't get all of them killed in a turn. Might be interesting to try

I think initutive and captian skills are going to be a big factor in this scenerio. More so than a normal game I mean. I'm going to maximize shooting priority.

tholian is interesting not sure how well it'll do. such fragile ships

I'd go with the generic BOP spam so you have a contiguous flow of midrange ships.

With the Tholians, depending on when your OP is, you could always toss in the Krenim's main captain for another high Captain skill, it still fits with the Indy theme since he is dual Indy/MU.

Not a bad idea. Three Skill 8s and a 7 isn't shabby at all

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh never mind I need Chakotey because he grants the 2nd weapon slot. Generic Tholian ships only have one weapon slot. Lore adds a crew so I can get Sakonna who adds a weapon.

Ok so I made it to my first Peak Performance today. This was a new venue for me, but a very friendly crowd, I'll probably go back. They used yhe new tournament FAQ, the only exception was they do 2 ship min max 60 points. I was crazy about the idea, but when in Rome. I flew a variation of the Romulan list above. We only 4 peopl so the TO said we were only playing 2 rounds , again when in Rome.

38 Scimitar
03 Salatrel
02 Romulan Helmsman
02 Interphase Generator*
02 Cloaked Mines*

30 IRW Valdor
04 Mendak
05 Independent Fleet Captain (tech*)
01 Stalking Mode
02 Romulan Helmsman
02 Romulan Security Officer
03 Advanced Cloaking*
02 Cloaked Mines*

14 IRW Praetus
01 Centurion
05 Disruptor Beams
02 Cloaked Mines*
02 Cloaked Mines*

so 1st Rounds was against a Fed Borg build

40 Sphere Number whatever
07 Picard
05 Photon Torpedo
04 Transwarp signal

32 Enterprise E
02 Captain Daugherty
04 Paris
06 Photons (sovereign)
06 Quantums

05 High Yield Photons

There must have been some other stuff, but thats all I can remember.

I lined up all of my ships to the left of the planet. Salatrel picked Borg as her hated faction. He lined up opposite me. I moved up 3s then the Praetus dropped mines. Turn 2 we cloased. Mendak hit Picard with stalking mode. Saletrel & Mendak unloaded on Picard Taking him down to 2 hull, he lost 2 shields to cloaked mines. The Preatus nocked some shields off the E. Turn 3 the E lost some shields to cloaked mines. Mendak finished off the Sphere, Salatrel smaked the E at range 1 down to just a few hull. The E desrtroys the Praetus . Turn 4 the Praetus and Sphere come Back. E dies to mines. Salatrel stripes the shields off the sphere, Mendak gives it a WARP CORE BREACH. Tuen 5 Mendak does another 5 damage to the Sphere. Salatrel strips shields and does some damage to the E. The E desrtoys the Praetus again . Turn 6 the Preatus moves back on. Salatrel destroys the E again, the Sphere desroys the Preatus a 3rd time . Last turn the Sphere flys into the mines and dies again. Salatrel picks on the E but Mendak is out of arc to finish the job. In the end I destroyed his fleet twice and he only destroyed the Praetus 3 times, W.

Round 2 was against

32 Enterprise E
06 Picard
03 Sulu
06 Dorsal Phaser

30 Sovereign Class
01 Terrell

24 Squadron 6

14 Praetus
04 Donatra

120

Praetus set up to the right of the planet. Salatrel and Mendak to the left. He set up everything behind ghe planet. Turn 1 move up. Turn 2 the Praetus drops mines to the right of the planet and center of it on his side. Mendak & Salatrel hit Terrel down to 2 hull. Turn 3 Scimitar drops more mines on his side. he breaks formation to avoid the mines, but everything gets hit for some damage, Terrell is destroyed. Mendak hits Picard with stalking mode. Salatrel destroys Donatra. My Praetus makes a wide turn towards my side of the board. Turn 4 my opponent is terrified of Mendak shooting before Picard, so he sends him and the damaged fighters to hunt down my Praetus. I see this coming and just move as far away as I can with cloak and sensor echo. These three ships do nothing but play cat and mouse the rest of the game, I fly like hell and he can't get me in range. However my little Praetus ties up two ships while Mendak and Salatrel beat up on Donatra and Terrel as they come back into play. In the end I destroyed Terrell & Donatra twice he destroyed nothing, W #2.

I won with the most point and got a lovely little shuttle to take home. I did like how Stalking mode worked out, lots of fun. I was worried about dropping the Reman Warbird for the Valdor, but when I played against the Sphere I was tossing 7 dice most of the time (4 + 1 close range, +1 green maneuver +1 Stalking Mode =7) pluse target lock. So in all it worked out and the Helmsman came in handy during both games.

I have another coming up in two weeks so I am thinking Klingons, or possibly Hirogen but that needs work still.

Stalking mode? What expansion does that come in?

it comes in the Hirogen expansion.

It makes someone -2 to captain skill for the game and the ship that used it gets +1 attack die against them

Let's say for a second I wanted to take something like that in a Faction pure environment, would it be legal? (An Indie talent on a non indie ship?)

Technically, Baldrick's build IS faction pure as he gave his captain the Independent fleet captain. So his captain is dual factioned.

Another way of doing it would be GenCon Khan or an Independent Flagship

The fleet captain does make the captain dual faction, but faction penalty is always based off the ship so my list is not exactly faction pure. With the fleet captain I could assign Mendak to an independent or Romulan ship without penalty, but any non Romulan upgrades would still pay a penalty on a Romulan ship. The fleet captain doesn't do anything to change the faction of the ship.

If I was going faction pure I would go with Massacre instead of Stalking Mode and pay 1 pt for Admiral Hiren on the Valdor. That would make Mendak skill 9 which isn't bad . Emperorpenguin is right in order to make it work for faction pure you would need to use an indy flagship which would screw the points all up because of the tech discount on the fleet captain. At that point you are building a completely new list.

Ok, so another Peak Performance this weekend. I am leaning towards Klingons, but I am leary about the B'Rels. 5 B'Rels sounds nice, but I just keep "pop pop pop" sounds in my head. So this got me thinking maybe a little more bulk is needed, K'Vorts

What do you guys think of this

24 K'Vort
05 Martok

24 K'Vort
04 Koloth
04 Drex

24 K'Vort
04 Gowron

24 K'Vort
03 Worf
04 N'Garen

120

With 5 hull the K'Vorts are less likely to be one shoted while cloaked and very unlikely while decloaked. This list also give a little more quality to the dice with Drex & N'Garen. I could swap out Koloth for the captain from the Pagh who gives a free TL, buy it is soo difficult to leave the D'Har Master at home.

Thoughts

I like it, the Kvort's should stick around for at least one more shot. I'd switch out captians if you think compettion is going to be high, otherwise just go with it.

Here is mine, I'm going to press my luck with Cardassians again

Koranak
Gul Macet (nice +1 attack combo with KoranaK)
Ion Thrusters
Aft Weapon Array

Trager
Gul Dukat (free action so Daro can do his job when needed)
Indy (Fed) Fleet Captian (keep them ships turning)
Coded Messages
Glinn Daro (Trager is a beast to destroy, Daro will help)
Ion Thrusters
Aft Weapon Array

Reklar
Gul Lemec
Gul Madred (Admiral)
Ion Thrusters
Aft Weapon Array

The Aft Weapons Array is self explanitory with flying bricks, but the Ion Thrusters I'm considering them to get my ships back in the fight faster after they are destroyed. I never tried Coded Messages, so I'm taking it to see if it's useful. Its an extra move to get back into a fight. I'm using Madred for his +2 skill to maximize Lemec mostly, I don't intend to use him unless I see those big captians in play.

-Rune stongrinder,

I like your list. The Galors are solid for hull and shields and you have BS all around with Dukat and the Reklar. I like your idea on the ion thrusters a 6 straight should get you back in the action quickly. Also I love the Daro & Dukat team, great combo I like to use that one myself

So it just occurred to me that if I take the Officer Exchange Program as my resource on my Klingon fleet I can pick Romulans and Klingons as the faction and get admiral Hiren for free . The exchange program takes away the faction penalty for captains crew and admirals plus captains & admirals are -1 point. Hiren is only 1 point to begin with, so he is 0 in the exchange program. The place I am playing is not faction pure so it's no big deal, so 0 points for +1 to captain skill they really thought about this resource.

Officer Exchange Program

Offers up some really dumb stuff. Sould have never allowed captains and admirals, crew only. Even that can start to unravel things.

I was able to get out to another Peak Performance over the weekend. I was going to go with my Klingon K'Vort list, the night before I thought that because I had one shuttle why not try something different. I decided on a Hirogen hunting pack. Here it is:

26 Alpha Hunter
05 Karr
05 Indy fleet Captain (*tech)
00 Stalking Mode
05 Odo
03 Improved Deflector Screens*
02 Monotonium Hull Plating*
01 Impulse Overload* (the one from the Gorn OP ship is only 2 points instead of 5)

24 Hirogen Starship
05 Khan
02 Invaluable Advice
04 B'Elanna Torres (Val Jean)
02 Monotonium Hull Plating
01 Impulse Overload

24 Hirogen Starship
04 Alpha Hirogen
03 Cyrano Jones
02 Monotonium Hull Plating
01 Impulse Overload

119 Total

We only had 3 people for this one so round 1nwas a bye.

Round 2 as best I can remember was against

Voyager
Picard 8
Sulu
Tom Paris
Chekov
Multi Adaptive Shields

Enterprise E
Kirk 8
Dorsal Phaser Array

Fighter Squadron 6

I set Khan and the Alpha Hirogen to the left of the Planet and Karr behind it. He set up all 3 opposite Khan & the Alpha. Turn 1 all 3 moved up 3s I think, he came in slow also. Turn 2 I did 4s with Khan & Alpha, my opponent came in at 5s ready for action. Karr did a hard 2 and his free sensor echo to hit Picard with Stalking Mode. For some reason he had his Fighters go to the other side of the planet I can only figure he thought Karr was headed that way. So Karr wasted his shots on a 7 evade die Voyager Khan and the Alpha however hammered the E down to 2 hull remaining. Picard took out some shields on Khan. Turn 3 Odo disabled Sulu, and Khan used an Impulse Overload to take out Voyagers Multi Adaptive Shields. Karr finished off the E. Now that Voyager was down to a manageable 4 evades, the Alpha took out some shields. Picard finished off Khan. Turn 4 the E and Khan came back on. Voyager was stuck to where it had to fly right in front of khan the Alpha joined in. Karr went after the E. Khan and the Alpha too Voyager down to 2 hull. Karr took some shields off the E. Picard struggled to take 2 shields off the Alpha. Turn 5 Karr uses Odo to disable the Phaser Array on the E. The Alpha beamed a mess of Tribbels over to Voyager, then Khan blew it up Karr and the Alpha ganged up on the E taking it out. In the end I took out thd E twice and Voyager once. I only lost Khan once.

W, 2-0

Round 3 was against a MU/Indy fleet

Kiana Prime
Khan
Fleet Captain
Stalking Mode
Cronoton Torpedoes
Jochim (Khan's buddy from the Reliant)
MU Sulu

ISS Defiant
Annorax
Enhanced Hull Plating

ISS Enterprise
O'Brien
Tantolas Field
Cloaking Device
Garek

I set up to the right of the planet he set up opposite me. Turn 1 I did 3 banks to the right... next 3 turnd we circled the planet. We were playing cat and mouse to see who would get off Stalking Mode first. I thought I had the perfect chance to Odo his Stalking Mode on turn 4, but I forgot about his Tantolas Field and he killed Karr I did manage to take out his Cloaking Device with an Impulse Overload. With Karr gone Odo disabled the Cronoton Torpedoes instead. Khan hit the Enterprise for 3 crits while it was cloaked . The Alpha was lost to combined fire of the Defiant and Kiana Prime. It wasn't looking good on turn 5. The Alpha came back and made full speed for the Enterprise. Karr's ship took out the Enhanced Hull plating on the Defiant with an Impulse Overload. Khan managed to inflict some heavy damage on Kiana Prime. The Defiant finished off Karr's ship. Turn 6 my ship came back on. The Alpha and enterprise exchanged fire each loosing some shields. Khan got Kiana Prime down to 2 hull. Annorax took the shields off of Khan. Turn 6, in all reality I should have lost in this round. Kiana Prime looking down the barrel at Khan, but whiffed Khan fired back and took the big ship out. The Alpha and Enterprise were at close range. Enterprise got only 2 hits and I evaded both. The Alpha landed 5 hits and Enterprise went down. Turn 7 just saw his ships come back. As it ended I had 97 to his 91, skated by wiyh 6 points

W 3-0

I was the only one with 3 wins so I won overall and now have another little shuttle. Some key things to remember 1) never give up, 2) look out for tantalos field, 3) Odo and Impulse Overload are awsome together
