Hey all its that time again, its time to post the May Huzzah Hobbies RTT! And yes we still are an ITC event! For more information about the ITC click here!

This month will be like last months we're going to be using NOVA Open format with the new NOVA Open Missions and FAQ. That means 1850 points and 2 detachments. The detachments rules can be found in the mission primers but I"m just going to copy them here:

You may use up to 2 Detachments (as defined in the Warhammer 40,000 Rulebook) to create your army. These may include unique Codex detachments which themselves are comprised of multiple subcomponents (i.e. the Decurion Detachment found in Codex: Necrons). You must otherwise follow all relevant rules for Battle Forged Army Construction, including use of a Warlord and Primary Detachment (which may not be an Allied Detachment). There are no restrictions on selection of the same Detachment twice (e.g., a Combined Arms Detachment).

The missions can be found here: http://www.novaopen.com/wp-content/uploads/2015-40K-GT-Invitational-Draft-Primer.pdf

And the Draft FAQ can be found here: http://www.novaopen.com/wp-content/uploads/2015-NOVA-Open-Warhammer-40K-GT-Draft-FAQ.pdf

Also we're going to be using the New D Rules NOVA is thinking of using -
D shots originating from greater than 12" away treat all "6" results as "5" results instead.
D weapons always inflict only D3 Wounds or Hull Points (even on a "6" result)

Here are some Event House Rules that I use:

Are unpainted models allowed?
YES! You can have a full army of gray on the table it doesn't matter. All that matters is you come out and have fun!

Are proxies allowed?
To an extent. Please contact me for approval of proxies before Saturday. As if you wait till Saturday to ask me, you might not like what I rule.

Just as an FYI our MAX is 32 players. So if you want to play you should really call up the store and sign up. Please arrive between 10 am and 10:30. Round 1 will start around 10:45am. No need to sign up though it is preferred (and if we reach max and you're not signed up there's nothing I can do!). You can call the store at 703-466-0460 or visit their website www.huzzahhobbies.com for location / number. $15 gets you in and we feed you lunch! Also this is a cash only event. So please hit up that ATM before you get there as the closest one is a few miles down 7.

I'll see you guys there! Please let me know if you have any questions!

Hey all just wanted to post a quick update. We're going to follow the changes that the NOVA Open are doing with their third detachment. So you're allowed to take a third detachment just that it cannot be CAD-Like. Here's a quick run down:

Your third detachment must not be CAD like. Meaning that if the detachment that you want to take has all 5 choices (HQ, Troop, Elite, Fast Attack, Heavy Support) that is CAD like and not allowed in the third slot. Examples of CAD like detachments are Company of the Great Wolf Detachment (from Champions of Fenris Supplement), Real Space Raiders Detachment (from the Dark Eldar Codex) and Nemesis Strike Force (from the Grey Knights Codex). Now if your detachment doesn't have all 5 choices (HQ, Troop, Elite, Fast Attack, Heavy Support) it is a non-CAD like detachment. Examples of those are Masque Detachment (from the Harlequin Codex), Skitarii Maniple (from the Skitarii Codex) and Officio Assassinorum Detachment (from the Officio Assassinorum Dataslate).

Also remember with the release of the new Imperial Knights codex, they have essentially been banned from the NOVA Open format and will be treated the same way at the RTT this weekend.

If you have any questions please let me know.

I'll see you Saturday!
