In spite of my join date, I'm actually kinda new here. Joined back in 2013, and promptly realized that I couldn't log in at work since the site's tagged with 'games.' So I've been lurking a bit while at home, and frequenting 40kforums ever since. I live in Western Washington state, work in security right now while going back to school, spent some time in the good ol' USMC, and maybe get a game of 40k in once every few months if I'm lucky (downside of only having one friend that plays). I play 'nids, Space Marines, IG, Grey Knights, inquisition, daemons and CSM, with army sizes ranging from 2,000 points on the low end (Grey Knights, inquisition) up to around 10k+ for the 'nids and Marines, though I haven't counted point totals in a while. I'm in the process of getting into Horus Heresy stuff too, so that's awesome. In spite of all that, I'm *definitely* a beer-and-pretzels, house-rules gamer with a bigger appreciation for cinematic appeal than for victory. I paint most of my guys myself, and am working on starting up a painting blog geared towards beginner painters. I'm by no means an expert myself, but getting started I always thought it would be cool & useful to be able to look at someone else's journey beginning at the novice stage. I look forward to chatting with you guys every now and again :-)
