Subject: What tokens are used for Deadzone?

Hey guys, the ModCube kickstarter is finishing today and a Deadzone set is going to be offered!! So, I wanted to get your feedback on what should go in that set as I work on it over the next few weeks . Here is what one of our backers, Damien Smith, sent me:
Universal Head's Rules Summary is a great source for all the images and meanings you'd need for the Deadzone. http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/102741/universal-head-deadzone-rules-summary-reference
Aggression Level: Enraged, Alert, Pinned, and Suppressed are one status. Alert is the default model state and Pinned requires laying the model down. The two extreme levels require a token. An image for each state would reduce difficulty laying some models flat.
Activated tokens let you know what has moved.
Command tokens track remaining command actions.
Overwatch tokens for models that took the action.
Equipment tokens in two different colors. Those found on the battlefield and those purchased before the match.
Ammo
AP Ammo
Energy Shield
Frag Grenade
HoloSight
Intel
Medi Pack
Sentry Gun
Smoke Grenade
Stealth Cloak
Targeter
Special
Mutations
Acid Bite
Acid Breath
Crippling Spasms
Overactive Metabolism
Razor Claws
Spiny Growths
Vestigal Wings
Wasting Muscles
Objective Markers
X, Y, and Z
Some of the artwork needed would be generic and can be taken from other sets you've already created. I've be interested in multiple sets of cubes due to the number of needed icons for a game.
Thanks
Damien
I'd love your thoughts on what would be most useful in the set, and also the number of tokens (there are 80 tokens in each set, to give lots of options for equipping the ModCubes).
If you haven't seen the ModCube you've only got until the end of today to get in on it, and the upcoming Deadzone set!

Cheers for any input you guys have . The Malifaux group on Dakka was extremely helpful in fine tuning their set, so I'm hoping I can get some similar ideas here!

I think equipment and mutation ones would be fiddly.
Aggression and Activated/overwatch would be okay.
It's kind of something that DZ already does well though and I don't know that they fit well with the cube idea.
Maybe someone else can chirp in though.

With Deadzone I'd only use the tokens, not the cubes. There's not a whole lot that cubes would be good for. In addition, there's going to be a second edition in January, and I'd guess a lot of the tokenable rules are going to be changed/streamlined.

I've pointed Damien over here, since he suggested the list in the OP. I'll be looking through the rules myself after the campaign ends and getting a feel for what would be the best fit. With so many different options it seems like something would lend itself to being able to be rotated!
For Maelstrom's Edge, I'm making some tokens for the 3 different states the angels can be in (Combat Form, Winged Form, Slasher Form). Are the mutations here not like that, where you'd cycle between them?

Mutations are a once per game thing (rarely more than that) and only one per model (rarely more than that).
You'd need 3-5 of them per side that plays plague though.

The way that mutations work is that at the start of the game, you can randomly choose three out of eight mutation markers to add to your models. They stay on all game. You can also generate one or two more as the game goes on, but I don't think anyone has done that before.
It wouldn't work well with a cube because there's 8 of them. If your markers had the actual rule on them that'd be a benefit over the standard markers. They'd also have to be opaque on the reverse.
This is also something I doubt will survive in its current form into 2nd edition.

A DZ board tends to be a bit crowded with different tokens as it is, and there's a lot of terrain and minis crowded into that same space. I honestly don't think I would use modcubes simply because they would make it harder to play the game. Also, they're currently working on a rules overhaul, so any tokens would be rendered obsolete pretty soon,

Hmm, this is excellent feedback guys! Will there be a beta released of the second edition, as I think Mantic does sometimes? I wouldn't be shipping these until the end of the summer, so maybe I could get some indication on where the rules tweaks are headed.
Do you have thoughts on the Equipment token options listed in the OP, and if those would make sense? The explanations about the mutations has been extremely helpful, thanks

I wouldn't expect a beta before Winter, unfortunately.
Equipment is far more common. You wouldn't easily be able to do the crates with your current set up - there's 16 double sided crate tokens, with an identical crate back back face and different equipment on the front faces. You randomly pick 8 and use those in a game. I guess you could rebuild the crates each game, but that sounds like a pain in the ass.
The game also uses wound, activation, overwatch, and command tokens. No one uses overwatch really, and the command tokens would probably be better as a unique dice color. The wound and activation tokens would probably be best, as the official ones are a little too small, but don't lend themselves well to cubes.
Sorry to sound so negative; I love Deadzone and ModCubes on their own, but I don't think this Recee's together so well.
