Subject: Warmonger Miniatures new 28mm Fantasy Miniature company by Bryan Ansell (gaming News)
Came across this and as gaming news thought would post. Seeing as many of us got into gaming from games by Bryan Ansell like Laserburn, and Games Workshop, so could prove interesting.
WELCOME TO WARMONGER!
Warmonger Miniatures is a new indie 28mm miniature company from the Industry renowned Bryan Ansell, Diane and Marcus Ansell alongside sculptor extraordinaire Kevin ‘Goblinmaster ‘Adams.
Our Mission, is to go back to basics, and develop our own new fantasy range with a nod to the classic style of tabletop miniatures. Kevin and Bryan have been working on the Warmongerers for about a year now
and we have around two hundred Warmongerers to get through too. We will also be going back to the original master moulds and bringing over two hundred of Kevin's fantasy models from 15 years ago back into production.
We admit It's been hard to predict how long this process is going to take, as we have a very large number of masters, master moulds and production moulds to get through and we are a small indie team. It would
be nice to think that we will have done most of the work within 18 months. We will start out relatively slowly and accelerate as things progress, as we value quality over poor quantity. Now we are ready and going live with our range.
We're calling Kevin’s new range GREENSKINS. It includes many sorts of Goblinoids in all shapes and sizes, and a remarkable number of viridian representatives of the fair sex. Kevin feels that he should just leave it to you which of his creations you choose to be your Orklings, Goblins, Orcs, Hobgobs, Trolls, Ogres, Faerie, Sidhe, Redcaps or Phooka (after all, one man's Ogre is another man's Orc). With the interchangeable heads and bodies of various sizes, you should be able to create pretty much anything you like. This allows greater versatility and conversion options as such Kev designed flexibility into his miniatures.
► Weapons; A good proportion of the Greenskins are wielding a weapon in both of their
hands. If you would rather substitute a shield, you can just clip one of the weapons off.
Kevin has made loads of shields: he will continue to make more!
► The necks provided are of various lengths: it is easy to either clip them back or extend
them with a small amount of Green Stuff or Milliput.
► Heads: We have made more heads than bodies so far. We will send you an appropriate
head for each of your Greenskins. Unfortunately, each head that we cast takes up nearly as
much space on the perimeter of our mould as the Greenskin itself, so we won’t be sending
out any extra ones for the time being. Multi headed Greenskins will come with the
appropriate number of heads!
However, we are going to see if we can find an economic way of providing
extra heads: so that you can fit them on other manufacturers bodies or
set about doing bizarre conversions, or whatever. Once we have got
things rolling properly, we intend to give you a
choice of a head from a selection of categories.
While we were sculpting the first fifty Greenskins, we were putting photos of the sculpts up on our splendidly disorganized Warmonger Facebook site. You might also like to watch our strange video. We will be delighted to receive comments and questions! To keep in touch with what we are doing you can join our mailing list, follow us on Facebook and keep checking back here at Warmonger HQ!
