I've tried embedding a pdf file into one of my posts using HTML, but the result leaves a lot to be desired. The frame is hard coded to be a certain size which is much too small to viewed on any reasonably sized PC screen.

Here's the code I used, Dakka seems to only recognize the embed function in HTML making several other approaches invalid.

however if I go to edit the post the width and height functions are removed and I get the result below. I'm using Fire Fox as my browser, by the way.

Spoiler:

//Should actually be //<;e*m*bed src="http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/D/Deimos_Vindicator_Laser_Destroyer.pdf" >"

//Should actually be //<e*m*bed src="http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/D/Deimos_Vindicator_Laser_Destroyer.pdf" width="500" height="375">
Is there any way to properly embed a PDF in DakkaDakka? Is there a way to set the size of the object?

If not, I'd like to request that this feature be added.

Edit: for some reason the above does not work in the Nuts & Bolts sub-forum but works in other section, just copy paste it into an old post if you want to try it.

Personally, I'd rather people not embed PDFs. We've mostly got out of the days where trying to display a PDF in your browser would freeze the program until it had finished downloading, but it's still one of the two largest file formats that anyone is likely to encounter in this fashion - the other is embedded Youtube videos, which have the good sense to not start downloading the video until you press the play button. If somebody wants me to view a PDF, I'd rather have a link I can right-click, save, and view once it is finished downloading rather than having to wrangle with the still-annoying in-brower viewer.
