Pulled together one of those cheesey youtube vid compliations of MMA fighters - only been dabbling in it myself for basic techniques but my best mate was All Ireland Champion back in 2003.

Anyone do it for "real" or?
Im always aware MMA is akin to WWE with a lot of verbose gusto etc so so

But:

Knees at1.16? - My Ex's friend knew Alastairs girl. Real gentle giant type of guy but.....

Spoiler:

CroCrop - (I knew a guy that trained with Crocrop - he was hard as nails )

Spoiler:

After that, no, I dont know hese guys!

Fedor beat Crocrop here:

But then crazy stuff like:

44 second KO

But then you have all sorts of stuff in here:

Spoiler:

I suppose my question is do these count at all - even if in a ring/real life?
I know theres somewhat of a Marine/Army element on dakka (all good by the way) - is MMA nonsense in the real world? Do you guys leanr/teach MMA or are these videos juiced up nonsense? (PS - the music dosent help - mute it)

What hth techniques does each Army teach (US/Russia/UK/French/German/Asian etc). -if any?

I think 'competitive' MMA is the most boring form of combative competition in existence. Even pro wrestling isn't that lame.

Edit: that isn't what you were asking.

Largely, outside of a ring MMA is nonsense. Most people do MMA because they want the violent skills without the hokey religious emphasis on discipline that comes with standard martial arts. Lacking that discipline, in a real life situation these juiced up mainiacs are just as susceptible to being blindsided as most folks are. Their enhanced physique will still help, but their mental state is as pliable and worthless as a lay person.

I train Muay Thai, I love watching all combat sports, MMA is easily the most entertaining. It's a sport, and should be learned as such.
