Thought I just had about the Age of Sigmar and 40K

In 40K, there are planets separated by the Warp were the Chaos Gods rule.

From what I understand about the Age of Sigmar, the world is gone. Now there is individual realms or spheres separated by the Chaos gods.

What is the possibility that GW is leading all of this to being two parallel universes leading to crossovers galore and one massive game.

WFB and 40k used to be strongly linked way back when - with the WFb world being just one of those travelled to by the Old Ones - likely "now" in the Eye of terror - you even had remnants of 40k tech in the hands of Amazons and Lizardmen as well as being gifted to Chaos Champions.

Hell they even used to cross over in to other game universes - such as Paranoia - there is a fun 40k Scenario where a bunch of Troubleshooters investigate an Ork stronghold and much violence ensues....

It may be they go down this route again - or not....

I know its an old concept that the Warhammer world was just a world in the 40K universe from when I played 1st edition. But seems more like a parallel universe theory and cross overs could be more possible with the Age of Sigmar.

Ages ago you could have chaos marines with plasma weapons in warhammer, it was just a world in the 40k galaxy.

My theory is that GW are trying to duplicate what WMHDs has done (two separate but interplayable games utilizing largely similar but not altogether identical mechanics that share a common setting but focus on different aspects of it) and are setting up both Fantasy and 40k to become compatible game systems.
