So I started playing more Malifaux recently and currently doing a league. Only thing I have so far is the Mei Feng crew box and the Katanata Snipers box. I plan to stay mostly in Ten Thunders so I was wondering what are some faction 'must-haves' that I can go for? I was planning to get some Metal Gamin, Komainu and the Rail Construct for Mei Feng for the constructs, but I am looking for some other Ten Thunders in general. Tossing up if I want to go with Shenlong or Misaki as my next Master for their crew boxes as well.

Torikage are solid. Like REALLY solid.

Oiran are almost ten thunders must haves.

I'd look into mercs. Bishop is insanely versatile. He gets 3AP and gets to PICK his trigger at the start of his activation. Killjoy is a nasty surprise who gets to unbury and immediately charge.

Honourable mention goes to Hans, because badass sniper.

I almost never leave without an Orian by my side to be honest. They are pretty usefull for whatever TT crew you run imo. trying out some archers atm but don't have that much experience with them yet so can't comment to much on those. Also indeed, I love my torakage, and since they come int he Misaki box it's not a bad way to go since it gets you another TT master for some variety.

Seems like Oiran are a pretty popular choice? (Which is not too shabby since I do like the look of their models). Was thinking since the Torikages are in Misaki's box I might get that along with a new master.

The short version- she likes minions, melee, and helps guns/defense a bit too: illuminated and torakage are both solid on their own, Toshiro is nasty stuff with her.

I expanded my Rail Crew with Metal Gamins, then Rail Golem, then Ten Thunders Bros. Then Convict Gunslingers ... and just acquired Misaki's crew too

10 Thunders Brothers are pretty much always the right answer.

Seems is there a lot of variety to some of these answers. Not that I am complaining, it just is not what I am used to most other games.

The short version is, Mei likes minions, constructs, burning, and personally being in melee with b- and c-grade models, and what this means is that she has a very flexible crew, only needing around 3-4 models specifically built around her theme in any given crew.

Add to that that Malifaux has highly flexible army building rules/objectives, and that ten thunders tends towards models without a ton of reliance/synergy, and yeah, you won't see many netlists.
