Hey guys, as I continue to slowly build up my Clan Skryre Skaven force I am starting to investigate modeling ideas how to construct a "Riders of Rohan" themed army, now I have decided on the following:

-I will be using High Elf &/or Wood Elf rules to run this army.
-Idea would be to utilize Ellyrian Reavers and Wild Riders to fir the theme as well as Sisters of the Thorn
-Everything mounted on Horseback (or dragons because I love dragons so why not!)

Now that being said I am wanting my guys to look as close to the real thing as possible so I have put together in my head from looking at various bits and pieces of kits that I feel would make a good "Rider of Rohan" to run as my Ellyrian Reavers, I am considering:

-Glade Rider Horse and Rider's legs
-Eternal Guard or Shadow Warriors upper body
-Eternal Guard Heads
-Glade Rider or Shadow Warrior/Sisters of Averlorn arms

Now I do realize that this may be a pricy project and that's okay, one of the reasons I love AoS is that I can slow build this army and still play so that is not a problem. If you guys can think of a better way to best construct a good looking "Rider of Roahn" for Warhammer Fanatsy I would love to hear your input. Thanks for the replies guys!

Somewhere in south-central England.

Are you dead set on using official GW figures?

The Riders of Rohan are based on the Carolingians and similar 'Dark Ages' horse warriors.

There are several good ranges of Carolingians in 28mm, and typically they are cheaper than GW (what a surprise) as well as saving you a lot of fiddly modelling.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I am only dead set on using GW models because I would be banned from Tournaments at my FLGS if I did not field them, I have seen those models before and they are awesome. I just need to use GW miniatures in order to play without drama at my FLGS.
